HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL:

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF A1000 GREAT NORTH ROAD AND

HARE LANE, HATFIELD) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”):–

1. that length of A1000 Great North Road, Hatfield from its junction with Oxlease Drive south westwards and south eastwards to its junction with A1001 South Way, a distance of approximately 736m.

An alternative route will be via A1000 (Great North Road/Hertford Road), A414 (Hertford Road/Mount Pleasant Lane/Hertford Road) and A1001 (Comet Way/Roehyde Way/South Way/Great North Road)

or via A1000 (Great North Road, A1001 (South Way/Roehyde Way/Comet Way), A414 (Great North Road/Hertford Road), A1001 Hertford Road and A1000 Great North Road.

2. that length of Hare Lane, Hatfield from its junction with Travellers Lane north eastwards for a distance of approximately 140m.

An alternative route will be via Travellers Lane, Oxlease Drive, Badger Way, Deerwood Avenue and Hare Lane.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

The Order will come into effect from 4 May 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 5 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT MEASURES ON BROOMFIELD ROAD, WELWYN AND WELWYN PUBLIC FOOTPATH NO.041) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be:–

1. To prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following length of road (“the Road”), except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of Road whilst works are in progress:–

a) that length of Broomfield Road, Welwyn from its southernmost junction with London Road north eastwards and south eastwards to its junction with Broomfield Close, a distance of approximately 126m.

An alternative route will be via London Road and Broomfield Road.

2. To prohibit all pedestrians from using Welwyn Public Footpath No.041 from its junction with Broomfield Road south eastwards to its junction with A1000 Welwyn Bypass Road, a distance of approximately 164m.

An alternative route will be via the footpath situated on the south side of Broomfield Road, the footway situated on the east side of London Road, the footway situated on the south east and south west side of Broomfield Road and the footway situated on the west side of A1000 Welwyn Bypass Road.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road and Public Footpath.

The Order will come into effect from 4 May 2026 and will be valid for a period of 6 months. The works are scheduled to take 5 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road and Public Footpath.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND WAITING RESTRICTIONS ON WARREN WAY, WELWYN) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Warren Way, Welwyn from its westernmost junction with Foxley Grove north eastwards, south eastwards and south westwards for a distance of approximately 508m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via Foxley Grove.

ADDITIONALLY all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of Road, whilst works are in progress.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order will come into effect from 4 May 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 5 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF CRANBORNE ROAD, POTTERS BAR) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Cranborne Road, Potters Bar from a point in line with the western boundary of No.117 Cranborne Road south eastwards for a distance of approximately 30m (“the Road”).

There is no alternative route available, but access will be maintained wherever possible throughout the duration of the works.

The Order is needed because electrical connection works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order will come into effect from 20 April 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 5 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF B157 EAST RIDGEWAY, CUFFLEY) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of B157 East Ridgeway, Cuffley from a point 280m south west of its junction with Hill Rise north eastwards for a distance of approximately 30m (“the Road”).

An alternative route will be via B157 (East Ridgeway/Plough Hill), B156 (Northaw Road East/Northaw Road West/Judges Hill/Coopers Lane/The Causeway), A1000 (Hatfield Road/ Great North Road) and B157 (Shepherds Way/The Ridgeway).

The Order is needed because electrical connection works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order will come into effect from 20 April 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 3 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF TYLERS CAUSEWAY, HATFIELD) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Tylers Causeway, Hatfield from its junction with Hatfield Public Footpath No.092 south westwards to its junction with Little Berkhamsted Public Footpath No.013, a distance of approximately 332m (“the Road”).

An alternative route will be via Tylers Causeway, Newgate Street Village, Carbone Hill, B157 (The Ridgeway/Shepherds Way), A1000 (Great North Road), B158 Kentish Lane, Woodfield Lane and Tylers Causeway.

The Order is needed because electrical connection works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order will come into effect from 20 April 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 1 day to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF WELWYN GARDEN CITY PUBLIC FOOTPATH NO.065) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all pedestrians from using Welwyn Garden City Public Footpath No.065 from its westernmost junction with Thistle Grove north westwards and south westwards for a distance of approximately 57m (“the Public Footpath”).

An alternative route will be via the footway situated on the west, north and east sides of Thistle Grove and Welwyn Garden City Public Footpath No.065.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Public Footpath.

The Order will come into effect from 20 April 2026 and will be valid for a period of 6 months. The works are scheduled to take 5 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Public Footpath.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access:–

1. that length of High Wickfield, Welwyn Garden City from its junction with Amwell Common south eastwards for its entire length.

There is no alternative route available, but access will be maintained wherever possible throughout the duration of the works.

2. that length of Chelveston, Welwyn Garden City from its junction with Lysander Way north eastwards, south eastwards, north westwards and north eastwards for its entire length.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Harmer Green Lane, Digswell from its junction with Harmer Dell south westwards for a distance of approximately 150m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via Harmer Green Lane, New Road, Adele Avenue and Harmer Green Lane.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order will come into effect from 20 April 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 1 day to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.
