Aylward Street - Temporary Road Closure
What is happening?

Portsmouth City Council (Aylward Street) (Temporary Road Closure) (Temporary Prohibition of Loading and Waiting) (No.72) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that Portsmouth City Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991.
The Order comes into operation from 20th April 2026 and the effect will be as follows:
A) TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE AND PROHIBITION OF LOADING AND WAITING
AYLWARD STREET
Outside No.1-21 Jacob House.
B) REASON FOR THE ORDER
To facilitate water works.
C) DURATION OF THE ORDER
From 20th April 2026 to 23rd April 2026 or completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
D) DIVERSION
Dead end road. Resident access will be maintained.
Pedestrian access will be maintained around the works.
Cyclists to dismount and follow pedestrian diversion around the works.
