What is happening?

Manchester City Council

The Council of the City of Manchester proposes to make the following Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 - CITY OF MANCHESTER (RED BANK AND KNOWLSEY STREET, CHEETHAM HILL) (PROHIBITION OF WAITING, LOADING/UNLOADING AND AMENDMENT) ORDER 2026 The effect of the Order is as follows:

NO LOADING OR UNLOADING AT ANY TIME:

Knowsley Street: both sides from its junction with Red Bank for a distance of 10 metres in a north westerly direction Red Bank: (i) the north-west side from a point 10 metres north-east of its junction with Knowsley Street to a point 10 metres south-west of its junction with Knowsley Street in a south-westerly direction, (ii) the south-east side from its junction with Honey Street for a distance of 30 metres in a south-westerly direction, (iii) south-east side from a point 10 metres north-east of its junction with Plateau Avenue to a point 10 metres south-west of its junction with Plateau Avenue in a south-westerly direction

NO WAITING AT ANY TIME: Knowsley Street: both sides from its junction with Red Bank for a distance of 10 metres in a north westerly direction Red Bank: the north-west side from a point 10 metres north-east of its junction with Knowsley Street: (i) to a point 10 metres south-west of its junction with Knowsley Street in a south-westerly direction, (ii) the south-east side from a point 77 metres north-east of its junction with Plateau Avenue to a point 50 metres south-west of its junction with Plateau Avenue in a south-westerly direction.

20MPH Speed limit on the following Roads for their entire length unless otherwise specified: Chase Street, Crabbe Street, Faber Street, New Century Park, and Roger Street. Aspin Lane from its junction with Red Bank to its junction with Corporation Street, Hargreaves Street from its junction with Roger Street to its junction with Crabbe Street, Red Bank from its junction with Knowsley Street to its junction with Aspin Lane.

Existing Orders are to be amended so as to be consistent with the above proposals. A copy of the proposed Order together with a statement of reasons and plans showing the proposals may be inspected by appointment at Customer Service Centre Ground Floor, Town Hall Extension, M60 2LA (for Sat. Nav. use M2 5DB) between hours of 9am and 4.30pm Monday to Friday. Please email or write into address below for a copy of documents. Objections to the proposals must be sent to me in writing to phlegal@ manchester.gov.uk or address below, stating grounds on which are made, no later than 11th May 2026.
