What is happening?

Highways

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

THANET AREA

A254 Margate Road, Broadstairs, CT9 4FL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow resurfacing works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of A254 Margate Road, Broadstairs, on or after 5th May 2026 for up to 10 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between A254 Pearce Signs Roundabout and A254 Ramsgate Road Roundabout, between the hours of 20:00 and 05:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via A254 Pearce Signs Roundabout, A256 Westwood Road, A255 Dane Court Road, A255 St Peters Road, B2052 College Road, A254 Ramsgate Road, Margate Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



B2052 College Road, Margate, CT9 4AY (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of B2052 College Road, Margate, on or after 20th April 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 38, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via B2052 College Road, A254 Ramsgate Road, A254 Margate Road, A256 Westwood Road, A255 Dane Court Road, A255 St Peters Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Acol Hill, Birchington, CT7 0HT (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Acol Hill, Birchington, on or after 4th May 2026 for up to 8 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from outside Vale House to the junction of Crispe Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Crispe Road, Seamark Road, A28 Canterbury Road, B2050 Park Lane, Acol Hill and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Augusta Road, Ramsgate, CT11 8LF (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow gas works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Augusta Road, Ramsgate, on or after 20th April 2026 for up to 9 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside flats 3, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Bellevue Road, Plains Of Waterloo, B2054 Wellington Crescent, Augusta Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Brunswick Road, Birchington, CT7 0EE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Brunswick Road, Birchington, on or after 20th April 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 19, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Brunswick Road, B2050 Park Lane, A28 Canterbury Road, Park Avenue and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Cliffs End Road & Meverall Avenue, Ramsgate, CT12 5HY (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & SUSPENSION OF RIGHT TURN) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Cliffs End Road & Meverall Avenue, Ramsgate, on or after 6th May 2026 for up to 7 days or until the works have been completed.

Cliffs End Road will be closed at the junction of Meverall Avenue, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

Meverall Avenue will have a suspension of right turn imposed turning right onto Cliffs End Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Meverall Avenue, Sandwich Road, Foads Lane, Cliffs End Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Clifton Street, Margate, CT9 1SE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow gas works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Clifton Street, Margate, on or after 20th April 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from outside number 24 to outside number 28, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any Northbound through traffic is via Clifton Street, Dane Hill, B2055 Northdown Road, Northdown Road and Bath Road.

The alternative route for any Southbound through traffic is via Clifton Street, Bath Road, Dane Road and Dane Hill.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Court Road, Birchington, CT7 0NE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow gas works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Court Road, Birchington, on or after 5th May 2026 for up to 9 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside the new builds on the corner of Court Road and Wantsum Way, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Court Road, Potten Street Road, A299 St Nicholas Roundabout, A28 Canterbury Road, The Length, The Street and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Crescent Road, Ramsgate, CT11 9NW (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow drainage works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Crescent Road, Ramsgate, on or after 5th May 2026 for up to 11 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions of Vale Road and Vale Square, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Crescent Road, South Eastern Road, Grange Road, West Cliff Road, Vale Square and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Crow Hill & Thanet Close, Broadstairs (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Crow Hill & Thanet Close, Broadstairs, on or after 4th May 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

Closures are planned in 2 phases as detailed below, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

Phase 1 - The road will be closed from 4th May 2026, with estimated completion by 8th May 2026.

Crow Hill will be closed outside 5 Staines Place.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via B2052 Stone Road, Knights Avenue, Kings Avenue, Crow Hill and vice versa.

Phase 2 - The road will be closed from 5th May 2026, with estimated completion by 8th May 2026.

Thanet Close will be closed outside 1 The Courtyard Crow Hill.

There is no alternative route. Every effort will be made to maintain access for residents whenever it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Durlock, Minster, CT12 4HF (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Durlock, Minster, on or after 20th April 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 28, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route. Every effort will be made to maintain access for residents whenever it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Harbour Street, Broadstairs, CT10 1NF (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Harbour Street, Broadstairs, on or after 6th May 2026 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed opposite number 29, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route. Every effort will be made to maintain access for residents whenever it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



High Street, Ramsgate, CT11 9RX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow gas works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of High Street, Ramsgate, on or after 20th April 2026 for up to 11 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed opposite number 112, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Chatham Street, A255 Park Road, High Street and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Laleham Road, Margate, CT9 2TW (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Laleham Road, Margate, on or after 4th May 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Corner House, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Laleham Road, Northdown Park Road, Upper Dane Road, B2052 Millmead Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Manston Road, Manston, CT9 4LT (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Manston Road, Manston, on or after 20th April 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside The Coach House, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Manston Road, B2050 Manston Road, Shottendane Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



The Pathway, Broadstairs, CT10 1JQ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow gas works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of The Pathway, Broadstairs, on or after 5th May 2026 for up to 10 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed at the rear of 41 B2052 Albion Street, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route. Every effort will be made to maintain access for residents whenever it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
