(HIGH STREET, LONG EATON AREA) (PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF MOVEMENT) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC ORDER 2026
Notice is hereby given that Derbyshire County Council no less than 7 days from the date of this Notice, INTENDS TO MAKE the above named Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 on roads in the High Street area of Long Eaton. The Order will take effect from the 4th May 2026 to the 3rd November 2027 INCLUSIVE and its effect will be:
TO INTRODUCE A ONE-WAY ON LENGTHS OF THE FOLLOWING ROADS:
Beaconsfield Street, Brown's Road, Claye Street, Clifford Street, Gibb Street, High Street, Howitt Street, Market Place, Market Place (Paved Area), New Street, Orchard Street, Salisbury Street, Tamworth Road, Union Street and West Gate, Long Eaton.
TO PROHIBIT MOTOR VEHICLES AT ANY TIME AND/OR TO PROHIBIT MOTOR VEHICLES 10AM TO 4PM ON LENGTHS OF THE FOLLOWING ROADS:
Access Road to the west of Market Place, Beaconsfield Street, Brown's Road, Claye Street, Clifford Street, Gibb Street, High Street, Howitt Street, Market Place (Paved Area), New Street, Orchard Street, Salisbury Street, Union Street and West Gate, Long Eaton.
TO INTRODUCE NO ENTRY ON THE FOLLOWING ROADS:
Access Road to the west of Market Place, Beaconsfield Street, Brown's Road, Claye Street, Clifford Street, Cross Street, Gibb Street, High Street, Howitt Street, Main Street, Market Place, Market Place, Market Place (Paved Area), New Street, Orchard Street, Peel Street, Salisbury Street, Tamworth Road, Union Street, Waverley Street and West Gate, Long Eaton.
Access will be maintained wherever possible and Alternative Routes will be clearly signed.
Any permanent Traffic Regulation Orders made prior to this Order, insofar as they relate to the lengths of road listed above, will be temporarily suspended during the period that works are taking place and for so long as this Order is in force and signed on street. The roads will re-open as soon as the work is finished. This may be earlier than advertised.
REASON: To facilitate safe routes and working areas as part of the Long Eaton Town Deal to create an improved streetscape and road environment. Derbyshire County Council apologises for any inconvenience caused. Anyone needing further information should ring Call Derbyshire on 01629 533190.
