What is happening?

THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL
PART OF LIMEKILN LANE, BRIDLINGTON
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF
THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

East Riding of Yorkshire Council has made an Order
the effect of which is to prohibit any person from
causing any vehicle to proceed/proceeding proceeding
along part of Limekiln Lane, Bridlington from property
number 24 to the entrance of North Bay Leisure Park
commencing 5 May 2026, 08.00 hours until 18 May
2026, 17.00 hours.
The reason for the closure is to enable the proposed
part of Limekiln Lane, Bridlington to allow high profile
gas mains reinforcement works, to be carried out and
completed in a manner consistent with ensuring the
safety of the public.
It is anticipated that the works will be completed
within 14 days.
The alternative route for traffic affected by the Order
is via Sewerby Road, Sewerby Road Roundabout, B1254
Fortyfoot, B1254 Flamborough Road, Sands Lane,
North Marine Drive, Limekiln Lane, St. Annes Road,
Bridlington CP, Bridlington Central and Old Town Ward,
Bridlington South Ward, Bridlington North Ward.
The road will be closed to all through traffic access will
be maintained for emergency services, residents and
pedestrians.
The Order will commence on 5 May 2026 and continue
in force for a period not exceeding 18 months or until
the works which it is proposed to carry out have been
completed, whichever is the earlier.
