TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF
THROUGH TRAFFIC
PART OF PAINSTHORPE LANE, KIRBY
UNDERDALE AND ROAD TO BEECH FARM,
PAINSTHORPE
Notice is hereby given that East Riding of Yorkshire
Council intends not less than seven days from the date
of this notice to make an Order, the effect of which
will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along
part of Painsthorpe Lane, Kirby Underdale from its
junction with the Road to Beech Farm eastbound to
reservoir and the full length of Road to Beech Farm,
Painsthorpe commencing 11 May 2026 until 21 June
2026 daily between the hours of 08.00 until 18.00
to allow carriageway work to commision water main
work.
The road closure is necessary to enable the works to
be carried out in a manner consistent with ensuring
the safety of the public. The Order is valid for
18 months, but it is anticipated that the works will be
completed within 42 days.
The alternative route for traffic affected by the road
closure will be via: Painsthorpe Lane, Howe Lane,
Uncleby Road, Uncleby Hill, Roman Road, Kirby
Underdale CP, Wolds Weighton Ward.
The diversion route will be signed at the time of
closure.
The road will be closed to all through traffic but access
will be maintained for residents, emergency vehicles
and pedestrians.
