ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
SECTION 14 (1) - TEMPORARY PROHIBITION
OF THROUGH TRAFFIC
CARR LANE, NEWTON UPON DERWENT

Notice is hereby given that East Riding of Yorkshire
Council intends not less than seven days from the date
of this notice to make an Order, the effect of which
will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along
Carr Lane, Newton Upon Derwent between
8.00 - 18.00 commencing 27 April 2026 to allow
works for a road closure due to not been able to
maintain minimum widths while excavating to install
approx. 120m of telecoms cable to link into existing
telecoms apparatus as part of the fibre to the home
scheme on Carr Lane, Newton Upon Derwent.
The road closure is necessary to enable the works to
be carried out in a manner consistent with ensuring
the safety of the public. The Order is valid for
18 months, but it is anticipated that the works will be
completed within three days. The alternative route for
traffic affected by the road closure will be via:
Bull Balk, Back Road, Wilberfoss Road, York Road,
Hull Road, Carr Lane, Newton on Derwent CP, Barmby
Moor CP, Wilberfoss CP, Pocklington Provincial Ward.
The diversion route will be signed at the time of
closure. The road will be closed to all traffic but access
will be maintained for emergency vehicles.
