Canal Lane - Temporary Traffic Regulation

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
SECTION 14 (1) - TEMPORARY PROHIBITION
OF THROUGH TRAFFIC
PART OF CANAL LANE, POCKLINGTON

Notice is hereby given that East Riding of Yorkshire
Council intends not less than seven days from the
date of this notice to make an Order, the effect of
which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding
along Canal Lane, Pocklington between 8.00-18.00
commencing 5 May 2026 to allow works for a Road
closure due to not been able to maintain minimum
widths while excavating to install approx. 160m of
telecoms cable to link into existing telecoms apparatus
as part of the fibre to the home scheme on Canal
Lane, Pocklington.
The road closure is necessary to enable the works to
be carried out in a manner consistent with ensuring
the safety of the public. The Order is valid for
18 months, but it is anticipated that the works will be
completed within three days.
The alternative route for traffic affected by the road
closure will be via:
Hodsow Lane, Hodsow Field Roundabout, Hodsow
Lane Roundabout, York Road, Canal Lane, Allerthorpe
CP, Barmby Moor CP, Pocklington CP, Pocklington
Provincial Ward, Wolds Weighton Ward.
The diversion route will be signed at the time of
closure. The road will be closed to all traffic but access
will be maintained for emergency vehicles.
