(Harlow and Epping Forest) (Combined Speed Limits) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under Sections 81, 82(1) & (2), 83(2), 84(1)(a) and (2) and Parts III and IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended)
Effect of the Order:
1. To Implement: a ‘40mph Speed Limit’
Road — A1025 Gilden Way Link Road (Eastbound), Sheerin
Description — Eastbound carriageway: From the Campions Roundabout, east for approximately 651 metres, to the junction with the Western Dumbbell Roundabout.
2. To Implement: a ‘50mph Speed Limit’
Road — A1025 Gilden Way Link Road (Westbound), Sheering
Description — Westbound carriageway: From the Western Dumbbell Roundabout, west for approximately 651 metres, to the junction with the Campions Roundabout.
3. To Implement: a ‘Derestriction’
Road — A1025 Gilden Way Link Road (Dumbbell Roundabouts), Sheering
Description — Both carriageways: To include the circulatory of both roundabouts and the connecting road. Approximately 235 metres.
‘The Essex County Council (B183 (to become the A1025) Gilden Way/Sheering Road, Harlow/Sheering (40MPH Speed Limit) (No.2) Order 2019’ is hereby revoked in its entirety, all restrictions shall remain in force by virtue of the new Order. ‘The Essex County Council (Sheering) (40mph & 50mph Speed Limit) Order 2003’ is hereby revoked in its entirety, all restrictions shall remain in force by virtue of the new Order.
Date of operation: The Order will come into operation on 13 April 2026

Application to the high court: Anyone who wishes to question the validity of the Order of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) or on the grounds that any requirement of the Act, or any instrument made under it, has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may within six weeks from the date of the making of the Order apply to the High Court for this purpose.
(Footpath 1, Footpath 8 and Footpath 10, Nazeing)
(Temporary Prohibition of Use) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended
Effect of the order: To temporarily close Footpath 1, Footpath 8 and Footpath 10, Nazeing in the District of Epping Forest as specified below.

(Epping Road, Roydon) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Epping Road, Roydon in the District of Epping Forest, from a point approximately 130m south east of its junction with Low Hill Road for a distance of approximately 40m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 12th May 2026 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (MX04410319876 – Affinity Water Limited). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while mains repair works are undertaken by Affinity Water Limited.
An alternative route is available via B181, A414, A1169, B133 and vice versa (with access only into Epping Road).
The Order will come into effect on 16th April 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Forest Road, Loughton) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Forest Road, Loughton Town, in the District of Epping Forest, from a point approximately 230m south east of its junction with Shaftesbury for a distance of approximately 30m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 5th May 2026 for 22 days, or where stated on a valid permit (MU113SA-2971745 – Thames Water Utilities Limited). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while sewer repair works are undertaken by Thames Water Utilities Limited.
An alternative route is available via Smarts Lane, High Beech Road, High Road and vice versa (with access only into Forest Road).
The Order will come into effect on 16th April 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Great Gregories Lane, Theydon Bois) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Great Gregories Lane, Theydon Bois in the District of Epping Forest, from its junction with Theydon Road for a distance of approximately 200m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 11th May 2026 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2400753 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
No diversion route is available.

(Green Hill Road/Anchor Lane, Abbess Beauchamp and Berners Roding)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Green Hill Road/Anchor Lane, Abbess Beauchamp and Berners Roding in the District of Epping Forest, from its junction with Berwick Lane for a distance of approximately 1850m in a south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 11th May 2026 for 12 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC008WGQL251CETHSB/BC008WGQL251C01ETHSB – Openreach Limited). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while cabling works are undertaken by Openreach Limited.
An alternative route is available via Anchor Lane, Potash Road, Sparrow Lane, Sparrows Lane, Chelmsford Road, Stortford Road, Dunmow Road, Berwick Lane, Green Hill Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 16th April 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Holyfield Road, Waltham Abbey)
(Temporary Introduction of No Right Turn) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily introduce a no right turn from Holyfield Road, Waltham Abbey, in the District of Epping Forest into Stubbs Hall Lane. The restriction is scheduled to commence on 30th April 2026 for 342 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP40070950572 – Murphy & Sons). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The restriction is required for the safety of the public and workforce for safety reasons whilst improvement works are undertaken by Murphy & Sons.
An alternative route is available via Holyfield Road, Crooked Mile, Crooked Mile Roundabout, Crooked Mile and Holyfield Road.
The Order will come into effect on 16th April 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Harlow District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On-Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) (Amendment No.78) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that Essex County Council has made the above Order under Section S1(1), 2(1) to (3), 3(2), 4(1), 4(2), 32(1), 35(1), 45, 46, 49, 53 and Parts III and IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).

To Implement: ‘No Waiting at Any Time’ Restrictions in the District of Harlow.
Road — Perry Road
Description — Both Sides: From a point approximately 14 metres South of the centre line of its junction with Pegrams Road, South for approximately 36 metres.
This Order will be incorporated into The Essex County Council (Harlow District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On-Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019 by substituting map tile: TL440 080 Revision 2 – Revision 3.
Date of operation: The Order will come into operation on 16 April 2026.

(Various Roads, District of Epping Forest) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) Order (No.6) 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily close those lengths of road in the District of Epping Forest as specified in the schedule.
2. A temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction will be introduced on both sides of carriageway on the above length of road for the duration of the closures to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping restriction will be in force.
“The Essex County Council (Epping Forest District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019” will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above lengths of road only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.
The works being undertaken will take place within an 18-month period from 16th April 2026; exact dates will be specified on one.network. These roads will be closed to facilitate each phase of works and then re-opened to the public. Access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion route will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the road. Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Greensted Road, Ongar in the District of Epping Forest, from a point approximately 155m north west of its junction with Drapers Corner for a distance of approximately 115m in a north westerly direction. (Little Gregories Lane/Piercing Hill, Theydon Bois)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily close that length of Little Gregories Lane, Theydon Bois in the District of Epping Forest, from its junction with Theydon Road a distance of approximately 370m in a north easterly direction.
2. To temporarily close that length of Piercing Hill, Theydon Bois in the District of Epping Forest, from its junction with Theydon Road a distance of approximately 25m in a south westerly direction.
The closures are scheduled to commence on 13th April 2026 for 29 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AZ7011001497936/AZ7011001497936 – Cadent Gas Limited; note closures will be in phases). Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Newmans Lane, Loughton in the District of Epping Forest, from its junction with Hatfields for a distance of approximately 105m in a south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 30th April 2026 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (MU11300980950 – Thames Water). (Tawney Lane, Stapleford Tawney) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Tawney Lane, Stapleford Tawney in the District of Epping Forest, from a point approximately 420m north east then south east of its junction with Tawney Common for a distance of approximately 560m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 1st May 2026 for 29 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP40059811414 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while site access construction works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
