(CHILTERN GREEN ROAD, HYDE)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends
not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Chiltern Green Rd, Hyde between Lower Harpenden Road to just past Cooper Skips.
This temporary closure is required to enable civils and resurfacing work with paco and lining to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing. It is expected that the works will take place from 11 to 29 May 2026.Between the hours of 0800 and 1800 The road will be closed at all times during this period. The alternative route for this closure is via Kimpton Rd, Luton Rd, High St, B652, B653, and vice versa.
The Order will come into operation on 11 May 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of a) The Ride for the full length
b) Furlong Lane between Dunstable Rd and O/s the Paddock
c) Church Road between Junc Dunstable Road to Junc Church Green.
This temporary closure is required to enable gas main replacement works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing. It is expected that the works will take place from a) From 4 to 18 May
b) From 27 April to 8 May.
c) From 6 to 20 April.
The roads will be closed at all times during this period.
The alternative route for this closure is via
a) There is no alternative route for this closure
b) Dunstable Rd, Totternhoe Rd, Tring Rd, Wellhead Rd and vice versa.
c) Church Rd, Dunstable Rd, Furlong Lane and vice versa.
The Order will come into operation on 6 April 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL PROPOSES TO INTRODUCE
NO WAITING AT ANY TIME ON CHURCH ROAD, SWANNELS WOOD AND
KENSWORTH ROAD, STUDHAM
Reason for proposal: For avoiding danger to persons or other traffic and/ or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising; for facilitating the passage of traffic on the road or any other road of any class of traffic (including pedestrians) and the waiting restrictions are intended to address indiscriminate parking and to ensure that junctions are not obstructed by parked vehicles.
Effect of the Order:
To introduce No Waiting at any time on the following lengths of road in Studham:-
1. Church Road, north side, from the junction of Swannels Wood, extending in a south-westerly direction for approximately 20 metres.
2. Church Road, north side, from the junction of Swannels Wood, extending in a northeasterly direction for approximately 12.5 metres.
3. Swannels Wood, both sides, from the junction with Church Road and extending north-westerly for approximately 16.5 metres.
4. Dunstable Road, from a point approximately 12 metres south-west of the shared property boundary between Nos. 1 and 3 Dunstable Road, extending south-west and continuing into Church Road for a distance of approximately 40 metres
5. Kensworth Road, north side, from a point approximately 12 metres south-west of the shared property boundary between No. 1 Kensworth Road and Studham Village Hall, extending southwest initially and continuing onto Dunstable Road following the curvature of the kerb north for a total distance of approximately 23 metres.
6. Kensworth Road, south side, from a point approximately 12 metres south-west of the shared property boundary between No. 1 Kensworth Road and Studham Village Hall, extending south-west continuing onto Clements End Road for approximately 23 metres.
7. Church Road, from a point approximately in line with the shared property boundary of No. 16 Church Road (The Forge) and The Red Lion Public House, extending north-east and then following the curvature of the kerb south-east onto Clements End Road, for a total distance of approximately 32 metres
8. On all sides of the central traffic island situated between the junctions of Church Road, Dunstable Road and Clements End Road, extending continuously around the perimeter of the island for its full length (approximately 38 metres in total).
