What is happening?

SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984: SECTION 14

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U5226 DANDY CORNER, COTTON

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the U5226 Dandy Corner, Cotton from Park Farm to Poplar Farm to facilitate electrical works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Mill Hill, Mill Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 20/04/2026 - 21/04/2026 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE C661 OLD POST OFFICE ROAD, CHEVINGTON

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the C661 Old Post Office Road, Chevington from 70 metres east of Mill Road for 100 metres eastbound to facilitate the replacement of a telegraph pole. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Old Post Office Road, Chedburgh Road, Chevington Road, The Street, Bury Road, Brookes Corner, Wheatercock Hill, Old Post Office Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 20/04/2026 - 21/04/2026 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE C663 HARGRAVE ROAD, LITTLE SAXHAM

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the C663 Hargrave Road, Little Saxham from 1400 metres south of the junction with Bury Road for 30 metres southbound to facilitate a water main fitting. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Bury Road - Little Saxham, Bury Road - Barrow, Barrow Hill - Barrow, Bury Road - Hargrave, Chevington Road - Hargrave, Hargrave Road - Chevington and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 20/04/2026 - 22/04/2026 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE C555 FINNINGHAM ROAD AND THE U5917 RICKINGHALL ROAD, WALSHAM LE WILLOWS

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the following roads:

  • the C555 Finningham Road, Walsham Le Willows from 50 metres west of the junction with Rickinghall Road for 100 metres eastbound
  • the U5917 Rickinghall Road, Walsham Le Willows from the junction with Finningham Road for 50 metres northbound

This is to facilitate telecommunications pole testing. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion routes will be:

  • Finningham Road, Walsham Road, Summer Road, the A143, the B1113, Walsham Road and vice versa
  • Rickinghall Road, West Hall Road, New Delight Road, the B1113, Walsham Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate on 21/04/2026 from 9.30am - 2.30pm but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE C568 YAXLEY ROAD AND THE COMMON, MELIS

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the following roads:

  • C568 Yaxley Road, Melis from the level crossing for 20 metres eastbound
  • C568 The Common, Melis from the level crossing for 20 metres westbound.

This is to facilitate track renewal and tamping works on the level crossing. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

The diversion route will be Melis Road, Yaxley, The Street, Eye Road, the A140, the A143, Melis Road Wortham, Melis Road Burgate, Ash Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from:

  • 11pm on 10/04/2026 until 7am on 13/04/2026
  • 11pm on 17/04/2026 until 7am on 20/04/2026
  • 11pm on 25/04/2026 until 6am on 27/04/2026
  • 11pm on 30/05/2026 until 7am on 01/06/2026.

If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE AND SUSPENSION OF ONE-WAY TRAFFIC ON PART OF THE U4401 LITTLE BRAMFORD LANE, IPSWICH

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the U4401 Little Bramford Lane, Ipswich from no. 34 for 30 metres eastbound to facilitate a stop tap replacement. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Wellington Street, Waterloo Road, Chevallier Street and vice versa.

For the duration of this closure there will be a suspension of the one-way provision on the U4401 Little Bramford Lane to allow access and egress.

It is intended that these measures will operate from 20/04/2026 - 21/04/2026 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE B1120 BADINGHAM ROAD, FRAMLINGHAM

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the B1120 Badingham Road, Framlingham from the junction with New Road to the junction with Saxmundham Road to facilitate carriageway patching prior to surface dressing. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be the B1119, the B1116, the A1120, the B1120 and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 20/04/2026 - 23/04/2026 but, from 8am - 5pm. If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE A137 IPSWICH ROAD, WHERSTEAD AND BENTLEY

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the following roads:

  • the A137 Ipswich Road, Wherstead
  • the A137 Ipswich Road, Bentley from Ipswich Road, Wherstead to the junction with Church Road.

This is to facilitate carriageway patching. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be the A137, the A133, the A1232, the A12, the A14, the A137 and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 20/04/2026 - 25/04/2026 from 8pm - 5am with further closure scheduled for associated works. If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE C428 DRINKSTONE ROAD, BEYTON

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the C428 Drinkstone Road, Beyton from the junction with Orsler Close for 50 metres southbound to facilitate the installation of a new sewer outlet. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Drinkstone Road, Beyton Road, Church Road, Roads bounding Beyton Green, The Green and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 20/04/2026 - 24/04/2026 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF THE U3531 HALL ROAD, LETHERINGHAM

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the U3531 Hall Road, Letheringham to facilitate timber post and rail fence replacement. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Hall Road, Cooks Hill, The Street, Pit Road, Sanctuary Lane, Sanctuary Bridge Road, Hall Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 20/04/2026 - 21/04/2026 from 8am - 5pm but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE AND SUSPENSION OF 7.5 TONNE WEIGHT RESTRICTION ON PART OF THE B1070 UPPER STREET AND THE ROAD FROM THE C437 TO THE C465, BENTON STREET, BENTON END, AND THE STREET AND THE C476 HIGH ROAD, LAYHAM, RAYDON AND HADLEIGH

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the following roads:

  • B1070 Upper Street, Layham from the junction with Higham Road for 250 metres northbound
  • B1070 from the C437 to the C465 Raydon from the junction with Higham Road for 250 metres southbound
  • C473 Higham Road, Raydon from the junction with the B1070 for 50 metres westbound.

This is to facilitate ducting installation works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion routes will be:

For the B1070 - B1070, the A12, the A1214, the A1071, the B1070 and vice versa.

For Higham Road - Lower Raydon, Higham Hill, Hadleigh Road, the B1068, Sandpits Lane, Bacons Green, the B1070 and vice versa.

For the duration of this closure there will be a suspension of the 7.5 tonne weight restriction on the:

  • B1070 Benton Street, Hadleigh
  • B1070 Benton End, Hadleigh
  • B1070 The Street, Layham
  • B1070 Upper Street, Layham

It is intended that these measures will operate from 10/04/2026 - 12/04/2026 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U2672 LATTICE AVENUE, U2665 PARLIAMENT ROAD, U2665 BLOOMFIELD STREET AND U2662 HENSLOW ROAD, IPSWICH

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the following roads in the following phases:

1. U2672 Lattice Avenue, Ipswich from the junction with Newbury Road to the junction with Goring Road

2. U2665 Parliament Road, Ipswich from the junction with Freehold Road to no. 16

3. U2665 Bloomfield Street, Ipswich from the junction with Freehold Road to the junction with Risby Close

4. U2662 Henslow Road, Ipswich from the junction with Freehold Road to the junction with Westbourne Close

This is to facilitate a highways improvement project. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion routes will be:

4. Lattice Avenue, the A1071 Woodbridge Road East, Spring Road, Britannia Road, Newbury Road and vice versa.

2. Parliament Road, Foxhall Road, Britannia Road, Freehold Road and vice versa

3. Bloomfield Street, Spring Road, Britannia Road, Freehold Road and vice versa

4. Henslow Road, Foxhall Road, Britannia Road, Freehold Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closures will operate from:

1. 20/04/2026 - 12/05/2026

2. 12/05/2026 - 01/06/2026

3. 01/06/2026 - 26/06/2026

4. 26/06/2026 - 08/07/2026

If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U3605 SPRING LANE, WICKHAM MARKET

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the U3605 Spring Lane, Wickham Market from 500 metres south of the junction with the B1078 for 25 metres southbound to facilitate the replacement of a sewer manhole cover and frame. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Spring Lane, High Street, Chapel Lane, Mill Lane and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate on 10/04/2026 from 9am - 4.30pm but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF FOOTPATH 12, BARHAM

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing Footpath 12, Barham at the railway crossing to facilitate safety during the renewal of the railway track. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

There is no diversion route.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 10/04/2026 - 13/04/2026 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 6 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U3614 UFFORD ROAD, EYKE

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the U3614 Ufford Road, Eyke from the junction with The Street for 20 metres westbound to facilitate underground cabling works and telecommunications pole testing. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be The Street, Bridge Road, Ufford Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate on 20/04/2026 from 9.30am - 3.30pm but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).
