EXPERIMENTAL TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER CITY OF COVENTRY (BUSH CLOSE, LODER CLOSE, SHEPHERD CLOSE AND JARDINE CRESCENT (20MPH ZONE) (EXPERIMENTAL) ORDER 2026

Notice is hereby given that Coventry City Council (“the Council”), under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended), has made the following Experimental Traffic Regulation Order (“the Order”), which comes into effect on 16th April 2026. 

The Order has the effect of creating a 20mph Zone to compliment the School Streets scheme which was recently introduced on the same lengths of road. The scheme reduces congestion and traffic, improves air quality and road safety. 

It also encourages walking and cycling to school. The effect of the Order will be to prevent vehicles travelling in excess of 20mph on the lengths of road set out in the Schedule below.

The Order will be implemented initially on an experimental basis for eighteen (18) months, after which time it will be reviewed. The Council may then make the Order permanent or abandon it.

A copy of this Notice, the sealed Order, plan and Statement of Reasons for making the Order may be inspected at the Council House (reception area) Earl Street, Coventry and on the Council’s website ‘www.coventry.gov.uk/tro’

Any objection must state the grounds on which it has been made and must be forwarded by no later than 15th October 2026.

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC ARRANGEMENTS
FLETCHAMSTEAD HIGHWAY SERVICE ROAD, COVENTRY

Coventry City Council, under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (as amended), has made a temporary Order, the effect of the Order will be to prohibit vehicles from waiting, loading or unloading, entering or proceeding on Fletchamstead Highway Service Road commencing from its junction with Standard Avenue and then continuing Northbound for approximately 20m.

The Order will come into effect on 00.01 hours on Sunday 12th April 2026 and is required to enable Openreach to carry out cabling works on the said road.

The maximum duration of the Order is eighteen (18) months or until the said works are completed, whichever is earlier. It is expected that the works will be completed by Sunday 12th April 2026.

The specific closure times will apply as the signage indicates on site.

Diversion(s) for vehicular traffic will be as signed on site.

Exemptions will be provided for:
(a) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or civil enforcement officer in uniform;

(b) emergency service vehicles, local authority vehicles and statutory undertaker vehicles at the time of an emergency for that vehicle to have access to part of a street under restriction imposed by the Order;

(c) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works;

Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC ARRANGEMENTS
STONEHOUSE LANE, COVENTRY

Coventry City Council, under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (as amended), has made a temporary Order, the effect of the Order will be to prohibit from entering Stonehouse Lane for phases of the works set out in the schedule below.

The Order will come into effect from 00:01 hours on Monday 13th April 2026 and is required to enable Matrix to safely install HV cable and carry out directional drilling works.

The maximum duration of the Order is eighteen (18) months or until the said works are completed, whichever is earlier. It is expected that the works will be completed by Thursday 7th May 2026.

Exemptions will be provided for:
(a) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police
constable in uniform or civil enforcement officer in uniform;

(b) emergency service vehicles, local authority vehicles and statutory undertaker vehicles at the time of an emergency for that vehicle to have access to part of a street under restriction imposed by the Order;

(c) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works;

(d) local vehicular traffic

Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

Schedule
Phase 1 – Directional drilling works, road to be closed from the Highway o/s no8 then for its remaining length southbound for approx. 20m 13/04/26 to 27/04/26.

Phase 2 – Hv Cable install 27/04/26 to 07/05/26. Closed in two parts. Part 1 from its junction with Sedgemoor Road then continuing South for its full length for approx. 80m. Part 2 commencing at its junction with Sedgemore Road and continuing to its junction London Road.

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC ARRANGEMENTS
WALL HILL ROAD, COVENTRY

Coventry City Council, under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (as amended), has made a temporary Order, the effect of the Order will be to prohibit vehicles from waiting, loading or unloading, entering or proceeding along Wall Hill Road commencing at its junction with Watery Lane and continuing to its junction with Stonehouse Lane.

The Order will come into effect from 00:01 hours on Tuesday 14th April 2026 and is required to enable the safe renewal of a short Communications Pipe.

The maximum duration of the Order is eighteen (18) months or until the said works are completed, whichever is earlier. It is expected that the works will be completed by Thursday 16th April 2026.

Exemptions will be provided for:
(a) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or civil enforcement officer in uniform;

(b) emergency service vehicles, local authority vehicles and statutory undertaker vehicles at the time of an emergency for that vehicle to have access to part of a street under restriction imposed by the Order;

(c) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works;

(d) local vehicular access to Wall Hill Road.

Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC ARRANGEMENTS
PICKFORD GREEN LANE, COVENTRY

Coventry City Council, under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (as amended), has made a temporary Order, the effect of the Order will be to prohibit vehicles from waiting, loading or unloading, entering or proceeding along Pickford Green Lane near its junction with Birmingham Road to such an extent as when signs are displayed.

The Order will come into effect from 07:00 hours on Friday 10th April 2026 and is required to partially close the road due to its current instability, as the road surface has been sinking and forming a dangerous hole which poses a risk to public safety.

The maximum duration of the Order is eighteen (18) months or until the said works are completed, whichever is earlier.

Diversion routes will be sign posted where appropriate and access to premises maintained wherever possible. The road will be closed or restricted on a number of occasions for the various durations.

Exemptions will be provided for:
(a) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or civil enforcement officer in uniform;

(b) emergency service vehicles, local authority vehicles and statutory undertaker vehicles at the time of an emergency for that vehicle to have access to part of a street under restriction imposed by the Order;

(c) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works;

(d) local vehicular access and egress to properties on the closed section of the road

Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC ARRANGEMENTS
WOODSIDE AVENUE SOUTH, COVENTRY

Coventry City Council, under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (as amended), intends to make a temporary Order, the effect of the Order would be to prohibit vehicles from waiting, loading or unloading, entering or proceeding along Woodside Avenue South commencing at its junction with Regency Drive and continuing to its junction with Kenpas Highway.

The Order would come into effect from 00:01 hours on Monday 20th April 2026 and is required to enable Severn Trent Water to safely renew a water connection.

The maximum duration of the Order is eighteen (18) months or until the said works are completed, whichever is earlier. It is expected that the works would be completed by Thursday 23rd April 2026.

Exemptions would be provided for:
(a) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or civil enforcement officer in uniform;

(b) emergency service vehicles, local authority vehicles and statutory undertaker vehicles at the time of an emergency for that vehicle to have access to part of a street under restriction imposed by the Order;

(c) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works;

(d) local vehicular access to Woodside Avenue South.

Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC ARRANGEMENTS
COVENTRY HALF MARATHON & 10K RUN 2026

Coventry City Council (“the Council”) under Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, as amended, intends to make a temporary Order (“the Order”), the purpose of which is to facilitate the holding of, and to enable members of the public to watch, the Coventry Half Marathon & 10K Run 2026. 

The Order would come into effect at 18.00 hours on Saturday 18th April 2026 and will remain in operation until 15.00 hours on Sunday, 19th April 2026.

The general effect of the Order would be to prohibit vehicles from waiting, loading, unloading, entering, or proceeding along the lengths of the road listed in Schedules 1 to 3 below on the dates and times stated.

The restrictions in the Order shall apply to such extent and at such times as indicated by prescribed traffic signs on site.

Diversion routes for the closures would be as signed on site.

Local access for the following: Brownshill Green Road [garden centre] via Long Lane to Coundon Green; Coundon Green will be maintained; Wall Hill Road will be maintained via Piker’s Lane; Warwick Road will be maintained via ring road junction 5 to Friar’s Road; and Waste Lane.

Roads would be re-opened when it is safe to do so.

Exemptions would be provided for any vehicle being used in connection with the event, emergency service vehicles, any person upon the direction of or with the permission of a police officer in uniform or an authorised traffic management event marshal.

Pedestrian access to all properties within the restriction and access through the restriction would be maintained along defined routes throughout the period of the closure.

Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

HOLBROOK LANE SERVICE ROAD, COVENTRY

Coventry City Council, under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (as amended), intends to make a temporary Order, the effect of the Order would be to prohibit vehicles from waiting, loading or unloading, entering or proceeding on Holbrook Lane Service Road commencing from its with junction Yelverton Road and then continuing approximately 125m south along the road.

The Order would come into effect at 20.00 hours on Wednesday 22nd April 2026 and is required to enable maintenance works to telecoms antennas using a MEWP to be carried out safely on the said road.

The maximum duration of the Order is eighteen (18) months or until the said works are completed, whichever is earlier. It is expected that the works would be completed by 05.00 hours on Thursday 23rd April 2026.
