What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)(a)
THE A36 TRUNK ROAD (CODFORD) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (a) has made an Order on the A36 trunk road in Wiltshire to allow junction improvement and associated maintenance works to be carried out in safety.

The works are expected to take place on or after 13 April 2026.

The effect of the Order will be to authorise:

(a) the overnight (20.00 to 06.00) and weekend (20.00 Saturday to 06.00 Monday) closure of A36 northbound and southbound between the junctions with Station Road and Salisbury Road;

(b) the closure of the A36 junction with High Street.

During the closures described above traffic will be diverted via junctions of the A36 and local roads.

Access to and from premises that are accessible from and only from the A36 will be maintained during the works.

The closures (which will not apply to emergency services or works vehicles), and diversion route will be clearly indicated by traffic signs throughout the works.

The Order will come into force on 11 April 2026 and have a maximum duration of 18 months.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (a) has made an Order on the A36 trunk road in Wiltshire to allow cable and associated maintenance works to be carried out in safety.

The works are expected to take place overnight (19.00 to 06.00) on or after 13 April 2026.

The effect of the Order will be to authorise the closure of:

(a) the A36 northbound and southbound between Deptford Junction and the Junction with Salisbury Road;

(b) the northbound entry slip road at Deptford Junction.

During the closure described above traffic will be diverted via junctions of the A36 and local roads.

Access to and from premises that are accessible from and only from the A36 will be maintained during the works.

The closures (which will not apply to emergency services or works vehicles), and diversion route will be clearly indicated by traffic signs throughout the works.

The Order will come into force on 11 April 2026 and have a maximum duration of 18 months.
