(PEDESTRIAN ZONE) (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) (ONE WAY) ORDER 2026



NOTICE is hereby given that the Walsall Metropolitan Borough Council proposes to make the following Order under Sections 1, 2 and 4 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984.

One Way Traffic
Darwall Street in a north easterly direction from its junction with St Paul’s Street to its junction with Tower Street. Tower Street from its junction with Darwall Street south eastwards for 18 metres.

Pedestrian Zone (Prohibition of Driving) with Exemptions
Darwall Street and Leicester Street – whole length.
Tower Street from its junction with Darwall Street south eastwards for 18 metres.

Exemptions for:
 Loading and unloading of goods in a marked loading bay (6pm – 10am only), Darwall Street.
 Permit holders at any time (for access to off-street parking areas), Darwall Street.
 Pedal cycles and buses, Darwall Street & Tower Street.

Revocations
Walsall Metropolitan Borough Council (Darwall Street, Leicester Street and Tower Street, Walsall)
(Pedestrian Zone) (Prohibition of Driving) (One Way) Order 2014. Walsall Metropolitan Borough Council (Tower St and Darwall St Walsall) (Weight Restriction) Order 2005.

This Order and the plans along with a Statement of the Council’s reasons for proposing to make the Order may be examined by appointment (Tel: 01922 650000) at The Civic Centre, Darwall Street, WALSALL, during normal office hours.

Objections
Formal objections to the Order should be sent with the grounds for making them in writing (quoting ref: GW/2265/6173) to the Permanent and Temporary Traffic Management Team, The Civic Centre, Darwall Street, Walsall, WS1 1DG or to the email address
