What is happening?

WALSALL METROPOLITAN BOROUGH

(BUS LANES, BUS GATES AND BUS ONLY STREETS) ORDER 2026



NOTICE is hereby given that the Walsall Metropolitan Borough Council proposes to make the following Order under Sections 1, 2, and 4 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984.

Restrictions under the Order
To reenact the Walsall Metropolitan Borough (Bus Lanes, Bus Gates and Bus Only Streets) Order 2021 (as amended) with the following additions: Extension of the current 24 hour contraflow bus lane on Ablewell Street bus lane that runs on the northbound carriageway. The new extents will be from its junction with Bott Lane northwards for a total distance of 205 metres to its junction with Upper Rushall Street. The contraflow bus lane will be used by buses and pedal cycles only.

Walsall Metropolitan Borough (Bus Lanes, Bus Gates and Bus Only Streets) Order 2021.

This Order and the plans along with a Statement of the Council’s reasons for proposing to make the Order may be examined by appointment (Tel: 01922 650000) at The Civic Centre, Darwall Street, WALSALL, during normal office hours.

Objections
Formal objections to the Order should be sent with the grounds for making them in writing (quoting ref: GW/2265/6172) to the Permanent and Temporary Traffic Management Team, The Civic Centre,
Darwall Street, Walsall, WS1 1DG or to the email address
