STOPPING UP OF LAND AT BENCH STREET, DOVER
I AM GIVING NOTICE THAT The Kent County Council as Highway Authority for the County of Kent propose to make an application to the Magistrates’ sitting at Margate Magistrates’ Court on 06th July 2026 at 14:00pm for an Order under Section 116 of the Highways Act 1980 to extinguish highway rights on the grounds that they are unnecessary on land at Bench Street, Dover as shown edged red on the plan on deposit.
A copy of the draft order and the plan referred to are on deposit, and can be seen during normal office hours, at the main reception of The Kent County Council at Sessions House, County Hall, Maidstone, Kent ME14 1XQ.
Any person to whom this Notice has been given or who uses the highway specified or who would be aggrieved by the making of the Order may appear before the Magistrates’ Court to raise an objection or make a representation on the application. Any person intending to appear before the Magistrates’ Court at the hearing of the application is requested to inform Justine Elliott by post to Legal Services, Sessions House, County Hall, Maidstone, Kent ME14 1XQ or by email highwaydefinitionsearches@kent.gov.uk, or by telephone
