What is happening?
TRAFFIC ORDER
On 07/04/2026 Angus Council made The Angus Council (High Street, Brechin)(Temporary Prohibition of Driving and Waiting) Order 2026, under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, so that Scottish Water works may be undertaken. The Order will come into force on Monday, 13 April 2026, from which date it is anticipated that the work will last for a period of 10 days. However, the maximum duration in terms of the Act is 18 months. The effect of the Order is to prohibit the driving and waiting of vehicles on High Street, Brechin from a point 80m or thereby north-west of City Road in a north-westerly direction for a distance of 155m or thereby. The alternative route for southbound vehicular traffic is via Church Street, St Mary Street (A935), Swan Street (A935), Panmure Street (A935), Southesk Street (A935) & Union Street. The alternative route for northbound vehicular traffic is via Union Street, Southesk Street (A935), Panmure Street (A935), Swan Street A935 & High Street.
