(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT MEASURES ON
A414 ST ALBANS ROAD, HEMEL HEMPSTEAD) ORDER 2026
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following length of road (“the Road”) and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of Road whilst works are in progress:1. that length of A414 St Albans Road, Hemel Hempstead from its junction with the Jarman Way roundabout north westwards and south westwards to its junction with Wood Crescent, a distance of approximately 817m.
An alternative route will be via A414 St Albans Road, A4147
(Maylands Avenue/Swallowdale Lane/Redbourn Road/Link Road), A4146 Leighton Buzzard Road and A414 St Albans Road. ADDITIONALLY all vehicular traffic is prohibited from being driven at a speed exceeding 30mph on that length of A414 St Albans Road, Hemel Hempstead from the Bennetts End Road roundabout north westwards and south westwards to its junction with the A414 The Plough roundabout, a distance of approximately 1968m, when signs are in place.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order will come into effect from 27 April 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 5 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF COWPER ROAD AND
ST JOHNS ROAD, HEMEL HEMPSTEAD) ORDER 2026
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access:-
1. that length of Cowper Road, Hemel Hempstead from its junction with Crouchfield south westwards to its junction with St Johns Road, a distance of approximately 185m.
An alternative route will be via Cowper Road, Gravel Hill Terrace,
Woodland Avenue, Glenview Road, Beechfield Road and St Johns Road or via Cowper Road, Gravel Hill Terrace, Green End Road and St Johns Road.
2. that length of St Johns Road, Hemel Hempstead from a point in line with the western boundary of No.45 St Johns Road south eastwards for a distance of approximately 30m.
An alternative route will be via St Johns Road, Green End Road, Gravel Hill Terrace, Woodland Avenue, Glenview Road, Beechfield Road and St Johns Road.
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.
The Order will come into effect from 28 April 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 4 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF SAWYERS WAY AND
THE ROAD LEADING TO NOS.9-49 SAWYERS WAY,
HEMEL HEMPSTEAD) ORDER 2026
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”):-
1. that length of Sawyers Way, Hemel Hempstead from a point 60m south west of its junction with Longlands south westwards to its junction with The Driftway, a distance of approximately 157m. An alternative route will be via Sawyers Way, Longlands, Broadfield Road, Newfield Lane and Sawyers Way.
2. the road leading to Nos.9-49 Sawyers Way, Hemel Hempstead from its junction with Sawyers Way south eastwards and clockwise for its entire length.
There is no alternative route available, but access will be maintained wherever possible throughout the duration of the works. The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.
The Order will come into effect from 27 April 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 3 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF WINDMILL ROAD, PEPPERSTOCK) ORDER 2026
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Windmill Road, Pepperstock from its junction with Pepsal End Lane north westwards, south westwards, north westwards and south westwards for a distance of approximately 600m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Pepsal End Lane, Front Street, B4540 (Markyate Road/Luton Road), A5183 Dunstable Road, Hicks Road and Windmill Road.
The Order is needed because tree cutting works are proposed to be executed near the Road.
The Order will come into effect from 13 April 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 1 day to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the road.

(“the Roads”), except for access:-
1. that length of Three Cherry Trees Lane, Hemel Hempstead from its junction with the B489 Redbourn Road/Shenley Road roundabout south eastwards to its junction with Swallowdale Lane, a distance of approximately 500m.
An alternative route will be via B489 Redbourn Road, A4147 (Redbourn Road/Swallowdale Lane) and Swallowdale Lane.
2. that length of Swallowdale Lane, Hemel Hempstead from its junction with the A4147 Maylands Avenue/Eastman Way roundabout north eastwards to its junction with Swallowdale Lane, a distance of approximately 300m.
An alternative route will be via A4147 (Swallowdale Lane/Redbourn Road), B489 Redbourn Road and Three Cherry Trees Lane. The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.
The Order will come into effect from 13 April 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 20 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Valley Lane, Markyate from its junction with Pickford Road north eastwards, south eastwards and north eastwards to its junction with Pietley Hill, a distance of approximately 1866m (“the Road”), except for access. An alternative route will be via Markyate Street Lane, Wood End Lane and Pietley Hill.
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order will come into effect from 14 April 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 1 day to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of B4635 High Street, Tring from its junction with the Christchurch Road roundabout north eastwards for a distance of approximately 103m (“the Road”).
An alternative route will be via B4635 (Western Road/Aylesbury Road), B488 Icknield Way, B486 (Wingrave Road/New Mill Terrace/Wingrave Road/Brook Street) and B4636 High Street.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF HILLFIELD ROAD, HEMEL HEMPSTEAD) ORDER 2026
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Hillfield Road, Hemel Hempstead from a point 50m north east of its junctions with Marlowes north eastwards for a distance of approximately 25m (“the Road”).
An alternative route will be via Hillfield Road, Marlowes, Midland Road, Alexandra Road and Hillfield Road.
The Order is needed because remedial works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order will come into effect from 12 April 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 1 day to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the road.
