What is happening?

Brewer Street (D389) Bletchingley Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of Brewer Street (D389) Bletchingley. Alternative Route: Sandy Lane, Little Common Lane, (A25) Castle Street, (A25) High Street, Church Lane, and Place Farm Road, or this route in reverse. This Order is required to facilitate telecom pole replacement works for, or on behalf of BT Openreach.
These works are anticipated to be carried out over 2 days, between the hours of 8am and 6pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 06 May 2026. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists.
Various in Reigate and Banstead Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.2) 2026
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. This Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to facilitate carriageway surfacing and/ or major maintenance works, which is anticipated to be completed as soon as possible within the 18 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 24 April 2026. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. In the event that it is necessary to restrict any access at any time under Section 3 of the Act, the road can only be closed for a maximum of 8 hours in any 24-hour period. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access for emergency service vehicles to these properties, will be maintained when safe to do so and if necessary via the signed diversion route. Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times.

Road North and A23 High Street; Standon Lane (D292) Ockley Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.2) 2026
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit all traffic from entering or proceeding in that length of Standon Lane (D292) Ockley as extends from its junction with the access to the property known as “North Lodge” to its junction with the access to the property known as “The Lodge”. Alternative Route: Standon Lane, Walliswood Green Road, Horsham Road, (B2127) Ockley Road, (B2126) Etherley Hill, and Mole Street, or this route in reverse. This Order is required to facilitate new customer connection works for, or on behalf of SES Water. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 34 days, between the hours of 8am and 4.30pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 06 May 2026.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency services vehicles, pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. All other vehicular traffic, including residents, will be required to use the signed diversion route. No sole access will be affected by this closure.
Coldhabour Lane (D289) Coldhabour Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.2) 2026
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of; (a) Coldhabour Lane (D289) Coldhabour as extends from its junction with (X14033) Folly Lane to its junction with (D289) Abinger Road; (b) Suspend “The Surrey County Council Coldhabour Lane (D289) Coldhabour Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026” insofar as it affects that length of road described in part (a) of this Notice. Alternative Route: (1) Coldhabour Lane, (A25) Vincent Lane, (A25) Westcott Road, (A25) Guildford Road, Hollow Lane, Abinger Lane, Leith Hill Road, and Abinger Road; (2) Abinger Road, Leith Hill Road, Abinger lane, Hollow Lane, (A25) Guildford Road, (A25) Westcott Road, (A25) West Street, (A25) South Street, Falkland Road, and Coldharbour Lane. This Order is required to facilitate tree felling works for, or on behalf of UKPN.
These works are anticipated to be carried out over 1 day, between the hours of 8.30am and 4.30pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 08 May 2026. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency service vehicles, pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. All other traffic, including residents, will be required to use the signed diversion route. No sole access is affected by this closure.
High Street (A25) Godstone Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026
On 08 April 2026 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) and 15(8)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit vehicles from driving or proceeding in that length of High Street (A25) Godstone as extends from its junction at the roundabout with (A25) Oxted Road to its junction with (A25) Bletchingley Road.
Alternative Route: (B2236) High Street, (B2236) Eastbourne Road, (A22) Godstone By-Pass, and (A25) Oxted Road, or this route in reverse. This Order is required to facilitate highway remedial works for, or on behalf of Surrey County Council. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 21 days, and as soon as possible within 17-month period of operation of this Order which commences on 19 April 2026 and continues in force the provisions introduced by “The Surrey County Council High Street (A25) Godstone Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Notice 2026” issued under Section 14(2) of the Act on 30 March 2026. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner. Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.
Due to the nature of the works, there will be no access through the closure, and all vehicular traffic, including emergency service vehicles, will be required to use the signed diversion route.
Eastbourne Road (B2236) Godstone Temporary Prohibition of Banned Turns Order 2026
On 08 April 2026 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) and 15(8)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit vehicles from driving or proceeding in that length of; (a) Eastbourne Road (B2236) Godstone from turning right into (C72) Church Lane; (b) Eastbourne Road (B2236) Godstone from turning left into (C72) Church Lane; (c) Eastbourne Road (B2236) Godstone from turning right into (D399) Bullbeggars Lane; (d) Eastbourne Road (B2236) Godstone from turning left into (D399) Bullbeggars Lane.
Alternative Route: (B2236) Eastbourne Road, (A22) Godstone By-Pass, and (A25) Oxted Road, or this route in reverse. This Order is required to facilitate highway remedial works for, or on behalf of Surrey County Council. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 21 days, and as soon as possible within 17-month period of operation of this Order which commences on 19 April 2026 and continues in force the provisions introduced by “The Surrey County Council Eastbourne Road (B2236) Godstone Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Notice 2026” issued under Section 14(2) of the Act on 30 March 2026. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary restriction, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. The above restriction shall not apply to vehicles being used in relation to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; or in accordance with any restrictions or requirement indicated by traffic signs placed on the road by or on behalf of the Police. Access for residents will be via the northern end of Church Lane and will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists. All other vehicular traffic including emergency service vehicles will be required to follow the signed diversion route.
Standon Lane (D292) Ockley Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026
On 08 April 2026 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit all traffic from entering or proceeding in that length of Standon Lane (D292) Ockley that is crossed over by the bridge known “Standon Farm Bridge” and for a distance of 20 metres either side. Alternative Route: Standon Lane, Walliswood Green Road, Okewood Hill, (A29) Stane Street, Cathill Lane, and Standon Lane, or this route in reverse. This Order is required to facilitate structural investigation of bridge works for, or on behalf of Surrey County Council. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 6 months, between the hours of 8am and 5pm, Monday to Friday only, during the 12-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 20 April 2026. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner. Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. Due to the nature of the works, there will be no access through the closure, and all traffic will be required to use the signed diversion route. No sole access will be affected by this closure.
Mill Lane (D426) Hurst Green Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026
On 08 April 2026 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Mill Lane (D426) Hurst Green as extends from its junction with the access to the property known as “Moor House School and College” to its junction with (D825) Mill Shaw. Alternative Route: Mill Lane, Greenhurst Lane, Hurst Green Road, Comforts Farm Avenue, and Mill Lane, or this route in reverse.
This Order is required to facilitate water utility works for, or on behalf of SES Water. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 3 days, between the hours of 8.30am and 6pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 21 April 2026. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency service vehicles, pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. All other vehicular traffic will be required to follow the signed diversion route. No sole access is affected by this closure.
Dorking Road (B2450) Leatherhead Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026
On 08 April 2026 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Dorking Road (B2450) Leatherhead as extends from its junction with its roundabout with (A24) By-pass Road and (A246) York Road to its junction with (D2555) Downs Lane. Alternative Route: (B2450) Dorking Road, (B2033) Church Street, (B2122) The Crescent, (B2122) Epsom Road, and (A24) By-pass Road, or this route in reverse. This Order is required to facilitate telecom spine cabling works for, or on behalf of BT Openreach. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 3 days, between the hours of 10am and 4pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 20 April 2026.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, via the banksmen on site, as will access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists.
Various in Mole Valley Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.1) 2026
On 8 April 2026 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles including cyclists, from entering or proceeding in the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. This Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to facilitate carriageway surfacing and/or major maintenance works, which is anticipated to be completed as soon as possible within the 18 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 13 April 2026. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. In the event that it is necessary to restrict any access at any time under Section 3 of the Act, the road can only be closed for a maximum of 8 hours in any 24-hour period. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner.
