THE WOLVERHAMPTON CITY COUNCIL
(LOWER WALSALL STREET) (TEMPORARY
PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Wolverhampton City
Council propose to make an Order under Section 14(1)(a)
of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as substituted by
the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991,
prohibiting vehicles from proceeding on Lower Walsall
Street at its junction with Minerva Lane.
The Order may operate for a maximum period of eighteen
months, but it is anticipated that the works will be undertaken
on 19 April 2026, between the hours of 07:00 and 15:00.
The diversion route is: Lower Horseley Fields, Horseley
Fields, Middle Cross, Bilston Street Island, Bilston Road,
Sharrocks Street, Commercial Road, Walsall Street and
vice versa.
The Order is required to facilitate the repair of a defective
manhole frame and cover by Severn Trent Water.
