What is happening?

THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
SECTION 14 (1) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION
OF THROUGH TRAFFIC
PART OF LIMEKILN LANE, BRIDLINGTON

Notice is hereby given that East Riding of Yorkshire
Council intends not less than seven days from the
date of this notice to make an Order, the effect of
which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding
along part of Limekiln Lane, Bridlington from property
number 24 to the entrance of North Bay Leisure
Park commencing 5 May 2026 at 08.00 hours until
18 May 2026 at 17.00 hours to allow for high profile
gas mains reinforcement works.
The road closure is necessary to enable the works to
be carried out in a manner consistent with ensuring
the safety of the public. The Order is valid for 18
months, but it is anticipated that the works will be
completed within 14 days. The alternative route for
traffic affected by the road closure will be via Sewerby
Road, Sewerby Road Roundabout, B1254 Fortyfoot,
B1254 Flamborough Road, Sands Lane, North Marine
Drive, Limekiln Lane and St Annes Road, Bridlington CP,
Bridlington Central and Old Town Ward, Bridlington
South Ward, Bridlington North Ward. The diversion
route will be signed at the time of closure.
The road will be closed to all through traffic but access
will be maintained for emergency services, residents
and pedestrians.
