TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2026
Sunderland City Council gives notice that on 8th April 2026 it made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which is to temporarily prohibit all vehicle traffic from Cross Place from a point 16 metres west of its junction with the Cork Street, for a distance of 32 metres in a westerly then a northerly direction. The Order is required to facilitate sewer main repair works. The order comes into force on 20th April 2026. The maximum duration of the closure under the Order will be eighteen months. However, the works are expected to be completed within 14 days. All vehicles, will be prohibited from Cross Place from a point 16 metres west of its junction with the Cork Street, for a distance of 32 metres in a westerly then a northerly direction, until the works are completed or at such times and to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the display of traffic signs. An alternative route will be provided.
