(PUBLIC FOOTPATH FP0110017 CATON, LANCASTER CITY)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Secretary of State for Transport has agreed to the above Order, which was due to expire on the 16th March, 2026, remaining in force until the 16th September, 2026, or until the works are completed within this period. The effect of which is to temporarily prohibit all traffic from proceeding over that length of Public Footpath indicated below:-
That part of Public Footpath FP0110017 Caton, Lancaster, from Hawthorne Close at Point A (SD 5370 – 6438) in a generally southerly direction for approximately 170 metres to Point B (SD 5376 6422).
The temporary closure is necessary whilst works are carried out on or near the footpath.
Access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the footpath, or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and only from, the footpath, will be maintained at all times.
Nothing in the order shall apply to emergency service vehicles, public rights of way officers of the County Council on foot or to those undertaking the works.
