Waltham Forest - Multiple Temporary Road Closures & Restrictions Due To Utility Works

What is happening?

LONDON BOROUGH OF WALTHAM FOREST (LBWF)
Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 – Section 14(1) - The Waltham Forest (Thames Water) (Ranger’s Road E4) (Temporary Measures) (No. 1) Order 2026
The Council of LBWF HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that it intends on making an Order to facilitate water mains replacement works by Browne on behalf of Thames Water, to be carried out in a safe and efficient manner in Ranger’s Road E4.
The general effect of the Order would be, only at such times and to such extent as regulatory signs are displayed, prohibit vehicles from entering, proceeding, waiting or loading for any purpose, at "any time" in Ranger’s Road E4, from the eastern kerb-line of Warren Pond Road, eastward for 480 metres.
Vehicular access to properties affected by these temporary measures would be maintained wherever possible, subject to the extent and operation of the closures.
The Order would come into operation on 14th April 2026 and would be valid for a maximum period of 3 months or until the works are completed, whichever is the sooner. (Ref: TT16(26))
NOTE: The works are expected to be completed within 1 month; however the Order has been extended to allow for contingencies.

The Waltham Forest (Gas Disconnection) (Cadent Gas) (Cazenove Road E17) (Temporary Measures) (No. 1) Order 2026
The Council of LBWF HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that it intends on making an Order to facilitate gas disconnection and removal works by Cadent Gas, to be carried out in a safe and efficient manner in Cazenove Rd.
The general effect of the Order would be, only at such times and to such extent as regulatory signs are displayed, prohibit vehicles from entering, proceeding, waiting or loading for any purpose, at "any time" in Cazenove Rd E17, in its entirety.
The Order would come into operation on 13th April 2026 and would be valid for a maximum period of 6 months or until the works are completed, whichever is the sooner. (Ref: TT8(26))
NOTE: The works are expected to be completed within 11 days; however the Order has been extended to allow for contingencies.

The Waltham Forest (Various Roads E17) (Thames Water) (Various Measures) - (No. 1) Order 2026 (TT5(26))
1. The Council of the London Borough of Waltham Forest HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that on 2nd April 2026 it made an Order to allow for Thames Water mains replacement works to be carried out in a safe and efficient manner by J. Murphy & Sons Ltd in various roads within the E17 region.
2. The general effect of the Order will be, only at such times and to such extent as regulatory signs are displayed, to prohibit vehicles (except works vehicles) from entering, proceeding, waiting or loading for any purpose, at any time, in the roads listed in Schedule 1 to this notice.
3. In the roads listed in Schedule 2 to this notice, and only at such times and to such extent as regulatory signs are displayed no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to enter, proceed, wait or load for any purpose, at any time, within 20 metres of the junctions specified.
4. Whilst works are being carried out and only at such times and to such extent as regulatory signs are displayed any one-way working in any road or parts of road mentioned in Schedule 2 or in any roads or parts of roads adjoining those roads mentioned in Schedule 2 to this Notice would be temporarily suspended.
5. The Order will come into operation on 6th April 2026 and would be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works are completed, whichever is the sooner.
NOTE: These works would not be carried out simultaneously in all roads but in a sequence as directed by the Council. The works are expected to be completed within 7 months. The order has been extended to allow for contingencies.

The Waltham Forest (The Avenue E4) (Fire Hydrant Works) (Temporary Measures) (No. 1) Order 2026
The Council of LBWF HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that on 2nd April 2026 it made an Order to enable fire hydrant replacement works to be carried out by Thames Water on behalf of London Fire Brigade, in a safe and efficient manner in The Avenue E4.
The general effect of the Order will be, only at such times and to such extent as regulatory signs are displayed, in The Avenue E4:
(a) to prohibit vehicles travelling southbound from entering or proceeding between Hale End Rd and No. 3 The Avenue;
(b) to suspend any parking bays on the east side and impose "no waiting and no loading at anytime" restrictions on both sides between Hale End Rd and the common boundary of No. 24 and 26;
(c) to suspend bus stops outside No. 26 and opposite No. 12 and 14 The Avenue.
(d) to suspend the pedestrian crossing outside No. 1.
The alternative routes for traffic shall be in an anticlockwise direction via: The Avenue, Chingford Lane, Hatch Lane, New Rd and Larkshall Rd.
The Order will come into operation on 7th April 2026 and would be valid for a maximum period of 1 month or until the works are completed, whichever is the sooner. (Ref: TT15(26))
NOTE: The works are expected to be completed within 3 days. The order has been extended to allow for contingencies.
Vehicles waiting or loading in disregard of these Orders would be removed.
Whilst the prohibitions referred to above remain in force, advance warning signage and alternative routes for traffic and pedestrians shall be in place.
The restrictions mentioned above would not apply in relation to any vehicle being used, or pedestrian:
(a) in connection with the said works; or
(b) for ambulance, fire brigade or police purposes (if the works allow).
NOTE: Signage will be placed in advance of any works in the above-mentioned roads which would give more specific details on the exact dates of the prohibitions, effects of any temporary traffic management and diversion routes as necessary.
