(BANBURY AREA) (SPEED LIMITS) ORDER 20**
NOTICE is given that Oxfordshire County Council proposes to make the above orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers. The effect of the order is to introduce a 20mph speed limit on all roads within the ‘Hardwick Hill residential development at the northern end of Banbury, east of the A423 Southam Road, leading out to the following points:
1. Bourton Road – its junction with the A423 Southam Road, and
2. Hardwick Hill – its junction with the A423 Southam Road. The Oxfordshire County Council (Banbury Area) (Speed Limits) Order 2026 will be revoked/replaced as required. Documents giving more details of the proposals are available for public inspection online by visiting: https://letstalk. oxfordshire.gov.uk Hard copies may also be made available on request.
Objections to the proposals and other representations specifying the grounds on which they are made may be sent in writing to the address below by the end of 01 May 2026. The Council will consider objections and representations received in response to this Notice. They may be disseminated widely for these purposes and made available to the public. Notice of Temporary Traffic Order
Chipping Norton, Banbury Road (A44)
Prohibition of Through Traffic and 20mph Speed Reduction
Date of Order: 30 March 2026
Coming into force: 7 April 2026
This Order is being introduced because of foul sewer works which are anticipated to be completed on 27 April 2026. The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding in the A44 Banbury Road from the A3400 roundabout (Shell Garage) to the entrance/exit Applegarth Nurseries Garden Centre. The existing 40 & 60mph speed limits will also be reduced to 20mph from the roundabout southwards to the cricket club entrance. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. The alternative route for traffic will be signed locally. The relevant part of the Oxfordshire County Council (Chipping Norton Area) (Speed Limits) Order 2024 is suspended so as to impose a temporary 20mph speed limit. This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref: T17373/RAG)

Banbury, Sussex Drive Area Footpaths

Coming into force: 27 April 2026
This Order is being introduced because of electrical works which are anticipated to complete on 3 July 2026. This is a
24 hour footpath closure. The effect of the Order is to close temporarily the footpath between No.23 Red Poll Close and South of No.110 Sussex Drive and the footpath west of Sussex Drive between No’s. 78 and 102. Exemptions are included for emergency services, for Works and for pedestrian access to premises which are only accessible from the closed sections of footpath. The alternative route will be signed locally. Appropriate signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. (Ref: T17434/RMF)
