ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
SECTION 14 (1) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION
OF THROUGH TRAFFIC PART OF
BOTH PAINSTHORPE LANE AND
HOWE LANE, KIRBY UNDERDALE

Notice is hereby given that East Riding of Yorkshire
Council intends not less than seven days from the
date of this notice to make an Order, the effect of
which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding
along part of Painsthorpe Lane from Painsthorpe Hall
to its junction with Howe Lane and part of Howe
Lane, Kirby Underdale between its junctions with
Painsthorpe Lane and Uncleby Road commencing
4 May 2026 until 24 May 2026 daily between
08.00 hours until 18.00 hours to allow for
carriageway works to commission water main works.
The road closure is necessary to enable the works to
be carried out in a manner consistent with ensuring the
safety of the public. The Order is valid for 18 months,
but it is anticipated that the works will be completed
within 21 days. The alternative route for traffic affected
by the road closure will be via Uncleby Road,
Uncleby Hill, Roman Road and Painsthorpe Lane,
Kirby Underdale CP, Wolds Weighton Ward.
The diversion route will be signed at the time of
closure. The roads will be closed to all through traffic
but access will be maintained for residents, emergency
vehicles and pedestrians.
