(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council has made an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over that length of Weeton Road, Westby With Plumptons for the entire length of its junction with Preston New Road.
2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The Order will be in force daily from 0900 hours on Wednesday 15th April 2026 until 1500 hours on Monday 20th April 2026 or until completion of the works within this period. The prohibitions will only be operative when indicated on site by the presence of the appropriate traffic signs in accordance with The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016. Works are weather dependent and may not be carried out on the dates specified.
4. Vehicular access for residents will be maintained whenever and wherever possible. Pedestrian access to properties will always be maintained.
5. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via:-
Weeton Road, Church Road, Singleton Road, Kirkham Road, Weeton Road, Kirkham Wesham Bypass, Kirkham Bypass, Preston New Road, Vice Versa.
The temporary prohibition is necessary to facilitate stop and go works on Preston New Road for pre-surface dressing patching works, works to be carried out by LCC Highways.
