Milton Road - Temporary Road Closure and Suspension of One-Way Traffic Order

What is happening?

BRIGHTON AND HOVE CITY COUNCIL
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
TEMPORARY TRAFFIC ORDER – MILTON ROAD, BRIGHTON

NOTICE is hereby given that Brighton & Hove City Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order pursuant to powers in Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended which when it comes into force will have the following effect:-

Only in force as and when signed:
(a) The temporary closure of Milton Road, Brighton at its junction with Elm Grove.
(b) The temporary suspension of the one-way traffic order on Milton Road for its entire length.

The Order is necessary to allow contractors to carry out a number of crane lifts.
Pedestrian access will be maintained, and a signed diversion route will be in place for vehicular traffic.
This Order comes into force on 20 April 2026 for eighteen months or until such sooner time as the works are completed, which is anticipated to be 20 August 2026.
