THE M1 MOTORWAY (JUNCTION 46)

(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited intends to make an Order on the M1 Motorway, in the County of West Yorkshire, to enable carriageway widening and associated works to be carried out in safety.

The works are expected to start on Monday  27 April 2026 for 10 weeks, or until completed. It will also be necessary, for 24 hours a day,  to impose a temporary 30 mph speed restriction on the M1:

(i)   southern circulatory carriageway at Junction 46;

(ii)  southbound entry slip road at Junction 46; and

(iii) dedicated link road connecting the M1 southbound with the A63 at Selby Road.

Traffic management will be in force 24 hours a day and traffic signs will indicate the extent of the restrictions (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or special forces vehicles) and prohibitions (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or vehicles being used in connection with the said works or for winter maintenance or traffic officer purposes). The Order comes into force on 26th April 2026 and has a maximum duration of eighteen months. The contact for any further information  about this notice is Simon Taylor.
