Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

MAIDSTONE AREA

A20 Ashford Road & Pilgrims Way, Lenham, ME17 2PZ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & TEMPORARY 30MPH SPEED LIMIT) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow foul water main to be installed, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily restrict through traffic on parts of A20 Ashford Road & Pilgrims Way, Lenham, on or after 6th April 2026 for up to 117 days or until the works have been completed.

A20 Ashford Road will be temporarily restricted to 30mph from the junction of Downlands to the junction of Ham Lane. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

Pilgrims Way will be closed at the junction of A20 Ashford Road. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any Pilgrims Way through traffic is via Pilgrims Way, Marley Road, Dickley Lane, A20 Ashford Road and vice versa.

A26 Tonbridge Road, Maidstone (NO RIGHT TURN) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow jetting works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily impose a No Right Turn from A26 Tonbridge Road into Terminus Road between the hours of 20:00 and 05:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site, on or after 22nd April 2026 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

B2079 Goudhurst Road, Marden, TN12 9NJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow stopcock meter replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of B2079 Goudhurst Road, Marden, on or after 20th April 2026 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Melbury Barn. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

B2163 Ewell Lane, West Farleigh (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow telegraph pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of B2163 Ewell Lane, West Farleigh, on or after 7th April 2026 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from Lodge Cottage for a distance approximately 100 metres in a West direction. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

B2163 Teston Lane, Teston, ME18 5RB (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow railway inspection and works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of B2163 Teston Lane, Teston, on or after 25th April 2026 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed 20 metres either side of Teston Level Crossing between the hours of 23:30 on 25th April 2026 and 04:00 on 27th April 2026 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via B2163 Teston Lane, B2010 Lower Road, B2010 Smiths Hill, B2010 Yalding Hill, B2010 High Street, B2162 Benover Road, B2162 Hampstead Lane, B2015 Maidstone Road, B2015 Bow Road, A26 Tonbridge Road and vice versa.

Bow Bridge, Nettlestead, ME18 5EA (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow rail crossing maintenance works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Bow Bridge, Nettlestead, on or after 26th April 2026 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed 20 metres either side of Wateringbury Level Crossing, between the hours of 07:00 and 19:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Bow Bridge, B2015 Maidstone Road, B2162 Hampstead Lane, B2162 Benover Road, B2010 High Street, B2010 Yalding Hill, Kenward Road, Bow Hill, Bow Bridge and vice versa.

Chapel Lane, Bredhurst, ME7 3JY (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow stop tap replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Chapel Lane, Bredhurst, on or after 20th April 2026 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Grove Cottage. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Chapel Lane, Dunn Street Road, Dunn Street, Lidsing Road, Forge Lane, Chapel Lane and vice versa.

Dean Street, East Farleigh, ME15 0HL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow pole testing works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on parts of Dean Street, East Farleigh, on or after 22nd April 2026 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in 2 phases, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 weekdays only, as detailed below:

Phase 1 - from the junction with Workhouse Lane, for a distance approximately 875 metres in a North direction. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

Phase 2 - from the junction with Forge Lane, for a distance approximately 875 metres in a North direction. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Dean Street, B2010 Lower Road, B2163 Ewell Lane, B2163 Heath Road, Dean Street and vice versa.

East Sutton Road, Sutton Valence, ME17 3DA (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow telegraph pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of East Sutton Road, Sutton Valence, on or after 8th April 2026 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed approximately 120 metres West of Pleasure House Lane, for a distance approximately 100 metres in a West direction. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via East Sutton Road, Tumblers Hill, Broad Street, High Street, A274 North Street, Chartway Street, Charlton Lane, Church Lane and vice versa.

Frittenden Road, Staplehurst (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow telegraph pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Frittenden Road, Staplehurst, on or after 8th April 2026 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from approximately 60 metres West of Cradducks Lane, for a distance approximately 300 metres in a West direction. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Frittenden Road, Staplehurst Road, Headcorn Road, Water Lane, Moat Road, Summerhill, Four Oaks Road, Plumtree Road, Four Oaks Road, Hawkenbury Road, Headcorn Road, A229 High Street, Frittenden Road and vice versa.

Granville Road, Maidstone, ME14 2SQ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & PROHIBITION OF PARKING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow LV ducting installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily restrict traffic on part of Granville Road, Maidstone, on or after 7th April 2026 for up to 13 days or until the works have been completed.

Granville Road will be closed between the junction of Peel Street and Granville House. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

Parking on Granville Road will be suspended between the junction of Peel Street and Granville House. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any Northbound through traffic is via Granville Road, Boxley Road, John Street, Peel Street.

The alternative route for any Southbound through traffic is via Granville Road, Peel Street, Gladstone Road, Boxley Road.

Granville Road, Maidstone, ME14 2SQ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow installation of mobile crane to remove a tower crane, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Granville Road, Maidstone, on or after 26th April 2026 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junction of Peel Street and the junction with Boxley Road. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative routes for any through traffic are via:

Diversion 1 - Peel Street, Gladstone Road, Boxley Road and Granville Road.

Diversion 2 - Boxley Road, John Street, Peel Street and Granville Road.

Hunt Street, Nettlestead, ME18 6AB (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow telegraph pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Hunt Street, Nettlestead, on or after 7th April 2026 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed approximately 110 metres East of the junction with Bow Hill, for a distance approximately 100 metres in an East direction. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Hunt Street, Bow Hill, Bow Bridge, B2015 Bow Road, A26 Tonbridge Road, B2163 Teston Lane, B2010 Lower Road, B2010 Smiths Hill, Hunt Street and vice versa.

Kent County Showground Events, Various Roads, Maidstone (SPEED RESTRICTION, NO RIGHT TURN & NO WAITING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow events to be held at the Kent County Showground, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily restrict through traffic on part of Various Roads, Maidstone, on or after 11th April 2026 for up to 226 days or until the events have been completed, as per the below schedule:

Event Schedule for 2026

• Heritage Transport Show - from 11th April 2026, with an estimated completion date of 11th April 2026.

• Antiques and Vintage Fair - from 18th April 2026, with an estimated completion date of 19th April 2026.

• BHP Performance Car Show - from 3rd May 2026, with an estimated completion date of 3rd May 2026.

• Kent Garden Show - from 23rd May 2026, with an estimated completion date of 25th May 2026.

• Antiques and Vintage Fair - from 6th June 2026, with an estimated completion date of 7th June 2026.

• Kent County Show - from 3rd July 2026, with an estimated completion date of 5th July 2026.

• Antiques and Vintage Fair - from 25th July 2026, with an estimated completion date of 26th July 2026.

• Military Odyssey - from 29th August 2026, with an estimated completion date of 31st August 2026.

• Antiques and Vintage Fair - from 5th September 2026, with an estimated completion date of 6th September 2026.

• Paws in the Park - from 19th September 2026, with an estimated end date of 20th September 2026.

• Kent Construction Show - from 1st October 2026, with an estimated completion date of 1st October 2026.

• Antiques and Vintage Fair - from 31st October 2026, with an estimated completion date of 1st November 2026.

• Kent Festive Gift and Food Show - from 20th November 2026, with an estimated completion date of 22nd November 2026.

The following restrictions imposed only on the event dates listed above.

Speed Restrictions

It will be necessary to impose mandatory speed limits on the following roads:

• Traffic in excess of 40MPH shall be prohibited on the Northbound carriageway of A249 Detling Hill between Scragged Oak Road and the Shell Petrol Garage.

• Traffic in excess of 30 MPH will be prohibited on Scragged Oak Road from A249 Detling Hill to Cox Street.

• Traffic in excess 50 MPH will be prohibited on A249 Sittingbourne Road Southbound between Roydens Prestige Car Sales and Aerodrome turning.

• Traffic in excess of 40 MPH will be prohibited on A249 Sittingbourne Road/A249 Detling Hill Southbound from Aerodrome to Scragged Oak Road.

Prohibition of Right-hand Turn

Vehicles will be prohibited from turning right, except upon the direction of a police officer, cause or permit a vehicle to turn right, on the following roads:

• Carry out a right hand turn from A249 Detling Hill Southbound into Scragged Oak Road.

• Carry out a right hand turn from Scragged Oak Road onto the A249 Detling Hill Southbound.

• Carry out a right hand turn or “U” turn on the A249 Sittingbourne Road Northbound at its junction with Rumstead Lane.

• Carry out a right hand turn from A249 Sittingbourne Road Southbound into Church Hill.

• Carry out a right hand turn from A249 Sittingbourne Road Southbound into Chalky Road.

• Carry out a right hand turn from A249 Sittingbourne Road Southbound into Aerodrome Approach, Service Road.

No Waiting Restriction

• Prohibit waiting and stopping on A249 Detling Hill and A249 Sittingbourne Road.

Lane Closure

• Lane closure Northbound between the exit of Detling Showground and the Shell Petrol Station. To facilitate safe egress from the showground.

• Lane closure Southbound between the Aerodrome and the Showground Main Entrance. To facilitate barrier removal / reinstatement or queueing event traffic.

The alternative route for any through traffic affected by the above restrictions are either:

• Traffic travelling Northbound is via the roundabout at Junction 5 of the M2 Motorway.

• Traffic travelling Southbound is via the roundabout at Junction 7 of the M20 Motorway.

Kings Lane, Collier Street, TN12 9SD (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow telegraph pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Kings Lane, Collier Street, on or after 10th April 2026 for up to 4 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with B2162 Collier Street, for a distance approximately 100 metres in a West direction. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via B2162 Collier Street, B2162 Claygate, Spenny Lane, Kings Lane and vice versa.

Lullingstone Road, Allington, ME16 0TY (PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow utility repair and maintenance works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit pedestrian traffic on part of Lullingstone Road, Allington, on or after 8th April 2026 for up to 8 days or until the works have been completed.

The footpath will be closed in the vicinity of property number 16. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any pedestrians is via Stansted Close, Tintern Road, Stockbury Drive, Eynsford Road, Lullingstone Road and vice versa.

Oak Lane, Headcorn, TN27 9SQ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow telegraph pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Oak Lane, Headcorn, on or after 9th April 2026 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with A274 Wheeler Street, for a distance approximately 100 metres in a North direction. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Oak Lane, A274 Wheeler Street, A274 Station Road, Forge Lane and vice versa.

Old Ham Lane, Lenham, ME17 2JU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Old Ham Lane, Lenham, on or after 7th April 2026 for up to 29 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junction with Ham Lane and the junction with Sandway Road. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Ham Lane, High Street, Headcorn Road, Sandway Road, Old Ham Lane and vice versa.

The Quarries, Boughton Monchelsea, ME17 4NQ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow telegraph pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of The Quarries, Boughton Monchelsea, on or after 8th April 2026 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from approximately 100 metres West of the junction with Cliff Hill, for a distance approximately 100 metres in a West direction. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via The Quarries, Old Tree Lane, Green Lane, The Green, Beresfords Hill, The Quarries and vice versa.

Ulcombe Road, Headcorn, TN27 9LB (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow cover replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Ulcombe Road, Headcorn, on or after 6th April 2026 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Little Poplar. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

Warren Street, Lenham, ME17 2ED (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow water asset repair and maintenance works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Warren Street, Lenham, on or after 20th April 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Fairview Cottage. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Bunce Court Road, Otterden Road, The Street, Eastling Road, Stalisfield Road, Throwley Road, Housefield Road, Broomfield Lane, Faversham Road, A252 Charing Hill, A20 Maidstone Road, A20 Ashford Road, Rayners Hill, Waterditch Lane, Warren Street and vice versa.

White House Lane, Headcorn (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow telegraph pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of White House Lane, Headcorn, on or after 9th April 2026 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from approximately 320 metres East of the junction with A274 Biddenden Road, for a distance approximately 100 metres in an East direction. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via White House Lane, Shenley Road, A274 Biddenden Road and vice versa.

Yelsted Road, Yelsted, ME9 7UU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow telegraph pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Yelsted Road, Yelsted, on or after 20th April 2026 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from approximately 250 metres South of the junction with Yelsted Lane, for a distance approximately 100 metres in a South direction. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any Westbound through traffic is via Yelsted Road, Lower Hartlip Road, A2 Hartlip Hill, A2 London Road, A2 High Street, A2 Boyces Hill, A2 Keycol Hill, A249 Maidstone Road, A249 Sittingbourne Road, Bimbury Lane, Yelsted Road.

The alternative route for any Eastbound through traffic is via Yelsted Road, Bimbury Lane, Aerodrome Approach, A249 Sittingbourne Road, A249 Maidstone Road, A2 Keycol Hill, A2 Boyces Hill, A2 High Street, A2 London Road, A2 Hartlip Hill, Lower Hartlip Road, Yelsted Road.
