TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS

Notice is hereby given that National Highways

Limited intends to make an Order on the A27

Trunk Road in the Counties of Hampshire and

West Sussex, under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works are proposed to be executed on the road The effect of the Order would be to:-

1)   authorise the overnight closure of both carriageways of the A27 between Warblington Interchange (A259) and Fishbourne Roundabout, and all roads leading to and from this length of carriageway;

2)   authorise the 24-hour closures of the lay-bys adjacent to the carriageways detailed in 1) above;

3)   impose a 24-hour 50mph speed limit on

(a)  the eastbound carriageway of the A27 between a point approximately 850 metres east of the centreline of Brockhampton Road overbridge and point approximately

400 metres east of the centreline of Mill Road overbridge; and

(b)  the westbound carriageway of the A27 between a point approximately 1065 metres west of the centreline of Broad Road overbridge and point approximately

80 metres west of the centreline of Mill Road overbridge;

These measures would be in the interests of road safety while contractors undertake barrier replacement, vegetation clearance, drainage, signage replacements, lighting repairs and all associated works.

The Order would come into force on 24th April 2026 and continue for 18 months or until the works are complete, whichever is sooner.

Traffic affected by the closures would be diverted using the A259 and Local Authority roads.

The temporary closures, speed limit restrictions, and diversion routes would be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the works period.
