ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(THE RIDE/ FURLONG LANE/ CHURCH ROAD, TOTTERNHOE)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of a)  The Ride for the full length

b) Furlong Lane between Dunstable Rd and O/s the Paddock

c) C hurch Road between Junc Dunstable Road to Junc Church Green.

This temporary closure is required to enable gas main replacement works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing. It is expected that the works will take place from a) F rom 4 to 18 May

b) From 27 April to 8 May.

c) From 6 to 20 April.

The roads will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via

a) There is no alternative route for this closure

b) Dunstable Rd, Totternhoe Rd, Tring Rd, Wellhead Rd and vice versa.

c) Church Rd, Dunstable Rd, Furlong Lane and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 6 April 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(THE RYE, EATON BRAY)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of The Rye, Eaton Bray outside number 7.

This temporary closure is required to enable new electrical connection works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 13 to 22 April 2026. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Stranbridge Rd, B440, Eaton Bray Rd, The Rye and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 13 April 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(BOSCOMBE ROAD, DUNSTABLE)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Boscombe Road, Dunstable from Eyecourt Rd Roundabout to Porz Avenue Roundabout.

This temporary closure is required to enable civils and resurfacing work with paco and lining to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 13 to 24 April 2026. Between the hours of 0900 and 1530 The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Porz Avenue, Lovett Way, Eyncourt Rd and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 13 April 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

Notice of Making of Public Path Orders

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (TODDINGTON: PART OF FOOTPATH NO. 62 AND BRIDLEWAY NO. 107) PUBLIC PATH

CREATION ORDER 2026

The above Order made on 27 March 2026 under Section 26 of the Highways Act 1980 will create part of Footpath No. 62, Toddington and Bridleway No. 107, Toddington as described below.

The length of Footpath No. 62, Toddington to be created extends from its junction with Bridleway No. 107, Toddington at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 0062 2812 in a generally south-westerly direction for approximately 140 metres following a track to terminate at its junction with an unaffected part of Footpath No. 62, Toddington at OS GR TL 0053 2802.

The new length of footpath has a width of 2 metres.

The length of Bridleway No. 107, Toddington to be created extends from its junction with Footpath No. A62, Toddington and Bridleway No. 63, Toddington at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 0070 2814 in a generally westerly direction for approximately 47 metres across a culvert to OS GR TL 0065 2815 then continues in a westerly direction for approximately 5 metres to OS GR TL 0065 2815 then continues in a generally south-westerly direction for approximately 34 metres along a track through woodland to OS GR TL 0062 2812 then continues in a generally north-westerly direction for approximately 46 metres to terminate at its junction with Russell Road at OS GR TL 0059 2815.

The new length of bridleway has a width of 4 metres.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (TODDINGTON: PART OF BRIDLEWAY NO. 63) PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION ORDER 2026 The above Order made on 27 March 2026 under Section 119 of the Highways Act 1980 will divert part of Bridleway No. 63, Toddington as described below.

The length of Bridleway No. 63, Toddington to be stopped up extends from an unaffected part of Bridleway No. 63, Toddington at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 0072 2807 in a generally northerly direction for approximately 66 metres to OS GR TL 0073 2814 then continues in a generally westerly direction for approximately 26 metres to terminate at its junction with Footpath No. 62, Toddington and Footpath No. A62, Toddington at OS GR TL 0071 2814.

The bridleway is stopped up across its full width.

The length of Bridleway No. 63, Toddington to be created extends from an unaffected part of Bridleway No. 63, Toddington at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 0072 2807 in a westerly direction for approximately 8 metres to OS GR TL 0071 2807 then continues in a northerly direction for approximately 61 metres to OS GR TL 0073 2813 then continues in a westerly direction for approximately 26 metres to terminate at its junction with Footpath No. A62, Toddington and Bridleway No. 107, Toddington at OS GR TL 0070 2814.

The new route of the bridleway has a width of 4 metres.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (TODDINGTON: PART OF

FOOTPATH NO. 62) PUBLIC PATH EXTINGUISHMENT ORDER 2026 The above Order made on 27 March 2026 under Section 118 of the Highways Act 1980 will extinguish part of Footpath No. 62, Toddington as described below.

The length of Footpath No. 62, Toddington to be stopped up extends from its junction with an unaffected part of Footpath No. 62, Toddington, Footpath No. A62, Toddington and Bridleway No. 63, Toddington at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 0071 2814 in a generally westerly direction for approximately 56 metres across a ditch to OS GR TL 0065 2815 then continues in a south-westerly direction for approximately 176 metres to terminate at its junction with an unaffected part of Footpath No. 62, Toddington at OS GR TL 0053 2802.

The footpath is stopped up over its full width.

The three Public Path Orders outlined above relate to public rights of way on The Glebe public open space in Toddington. Copies of the Orders and the Order map have been placed and may be seen free of charge at the offices of Central Bedfordshire Council Highways, Priory House, Monks Walk, Chicksands, Shefford. Any representations about or objections to the three Orders above may be sent in writing to the Highway Assets Intelligence Team Leader, Central Bedfordshire Council Highways, Priory House, Monks Walk, Chicksands, Shefford, SG17 5QT or definitivemap@ centralbedfordshire.gov.uk not later than 6 May 2026. Please state the grounds on which they are made. Representations and objections must include either a postal or e-mail address. Any representations or objections made will be in the public domain and will be available for viewing/copying by members of the public.

If no such representations or objections are duly made, or if any so made are withdrawn, the Central Bedfordshire Council may confirm the Orders as unopposed Orders. If the Orders are sent to the Secretary of State for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for confirmation any representations and objections which have not been withdrawn will be sent with the Orders and will be made publicly available by either the Council or the Planning Inspectorate.

Notice of Confirmation of Public Path Order

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (HOUGHTON REGIS: PART OF FOOTPATH NO 36) PUBLIC PATH EXTINGUISHMENT ORDER 2021

On 2 March 2026 the Secretary of State for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs confirmed the above Order made under Section 118 of the Highways Act 1980.

The effect of the Order as confirmed is to extinguish the public footpaths described below.

The first length of Footpath 36, Houghton Regis to be stopped up extends from its junction with an unaffected part of Footpath No. 36, Houghton Regis and Bridleway No. 35, Houghton Regis at Ordnance Survey (OS GR) SP 9953 2273 in a north-westerly direction for approximately 36 metres down the Sewell railway cutting to its junction with the Sewell Greenway at OS GR SP 9951 2275 and then continues in a generally north-westerly direction for approximately 147 metres up out of the Sewell railway and across pastureland to its junction with Sewell Lane at OS GR SP 9940 2285.

The second length of Footpath 36, Houghton Regis to be stopped up extends from its junction with Sewell Lane at OS GR SP 9937 2284 in a north-westerly direction for approximately 49 metres across the yard of Sewell Farm to a farm gate at OS GR SP 9932 2286 and then continues across pastureland in a north-westerly and then northerly direction for approximately 215 metres to its junction with Footpath No. 33, Houghton Regis at OS GR SP 9920 2302.

The parts of Footpath No 36 to be stopped up are done so across their full width.

The order came into force on 3 March 2026 but if a person aggrieved by the Order wants to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980, as amended, or of any regulation made under the Act has not been complied with in relation to the Order, he or she may, under paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act as applied by paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act, within 6 weeks from 1 April 2026 make an application to the High Court.
