Suffolk - Multiple Temporary Road Closures & Parking Restrictions Due To Various Works
What is happening?
SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL
Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984: Section 14 - Temporary Closure Of Part Of The B1113 The Street, Redgrave
Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the B1113 The Street, Redgrave from 38 metres northwest of Churchway for 32 metres north westbound to facilitate the installation of a new electricity supply. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route will be the A143, the A140, the A1066 and vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will operate from 31/03/2026 – 02/04/2026 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Temporary Closure Of Part Of The U5943 Ashfield Road, Norton
Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the U5943 Ashfield Road, Norton from 886 metres west of the junction with The Green for 30 metres westbound to facilitate a new water connection. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route will be A1088 Woolpit Road, the A1088 from district boundary to the A14, Church Road, New Road, The Street, Station Road, Ashfield Road and vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will operate from 31/03/2026 – 02/04/2026 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Temporary Closure Of Part Of The U7438 Harrow Green, Lawshall
Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the U7438 Harrow Green, Lawshall from Lambs Lane to Starlings to facilitate the installation of a fibre network. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route will be Lambs Lane, Melford Road, the road from the 7439 to the C685, Mill Hill, Little Chadacre, Shimpling Road, Hanningfield Green, The Street and vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will operate from 31/03/2026 – 10/04/2026 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Temporary Closure Of Part Of The B1066 Melford Road, Hartest
Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the B1066 Melford Road, Hartest from 40 metres east of Mill Lane for 100 metres eastbound to facilitate the replacement of a telegraph pole. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route will be the A143, the A1302, the A134, the A1092, the B1066 and vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will operate on 09/04/2026 from 9am to 3:30pm but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Temporary Closure Of Part Of Restricted Byway 36, Ipswich
Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing Restricted Byway 36, Ipswich outside the waterfront building to facilitate safety during the installation of high-level signage. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
There will be an alternative route on site.
It is intended that the closure will operate from 09/04/2026 – 19/04/2026 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 6 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Temporary Prohibition Of Waiting On The U6810 York Road, Haverhill
Suffolk County Council intends to make an order prohibiting waiting on the U6810 York Road, Haverhill.
There will be no exceptions.
This is to facilitate carriageway resurfacing and lining works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
As this measure is required to permit essential works to the highway, any vehicles that remain in the area affected during the period of the restriction, may be removed in accordance with powers available to do so. Temporary Closure Of Part Of The C701 Bury Road And Chapel Hill And
U8045 Dakings Lane, Thorpe Morieux
Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the following roads in the following phases:
- C701 Bury Road, Thorpe Morieux from no. 1 Jaggards Cottages to Almshouse Green.
- C701 Chapel Hill, Thorpe Morieux from the junction with Bury Road for 37 metres eastbound.
- C701 Bury Road, Thorpe Morieux from Almshouse Green to Woodview.
- C701 Bury Road, Thorpe Morieux from Willow Cottage to 50 metres west of Dakings Lane.
- U8045 Dakings Lane, Thorpe Morieux from the junction with Bury Road for 30 metres northbound.
- C701 Bury Road, Thorpe Morieux from The Green to Elm Tree Farm.
This is to facilitate the installation of a fibre network. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route will be Bury Road - Brettenham, The Street, Church Road - Brettenham, Benton Lane, High Town Green, Brettenham Road, Felsham Road, Rattlesden Road, Lower Green, Church Road - Felsham, Cockfield Road and vice versa.
It is intended that the closures will operate:
1. 09/04/2026 – 17/04/2026
2. 20/04/2026 – 01/05/2026
3. 05/05/2026 – 20/05/2026
4. 21/05/2026 – 27/05/2026.
If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).
