THE A5 TRUNK ROAD
(REDMOOR ROUNDABOUT TO PORTWAY ROUNDABOUT, MILTON KEYNES)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited(a) has made an Order on the A5 Trunk Road at Milton Keynes, to enable bridge inspection works to be carried out in safety. The works are expected to take place  over 4 nights (10pm-5am), starting on, or after Monday 13 April 2026.

The effect of the Order on the A5 will be to close the –

1.   northbound and southbound carriageways between Redmoor Roundabout and Portway Roundabout, and

2.   entry slip roads to the lengths of carriageway described above.

Northbound traffic will be diverted to exit the A5 at Redmoor Roundabout then via the A421, A4146 and A509 to rejoin the A5 at Portway Roundabout, vice versa for southbound traffic.

All lay-bys adjacent to the lengths of carriageway described at 1 above will be closed for 24 hours daily for the duration of the works.

The closures (which will not apply to emergency service, traffic officer, works or winter maintenance vehicles) and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs.

The Order will come into force on 6 April 2026 and remain in force until the works detailed above have been completed, or for a maximum duration of eighteen months, whichever is the earlier. L Walton, National Highways Limited.
