THE CITY OF EDINBURGH COUNCIL

(CRAMOND ROAD SOUTH AREA) (TEMPORARY ROAD

RESTRICTION AND TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2026 – TEMP/26/58

The Council has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be that for a temporary period, to facilitate carriageway resurfacing, and footway buildout works, no person shall: (a) drive or cause or permit any vehicle to be driven on any part of: Phase 1 (i) Cramond Rd Sth from the extended north kerbline of Main St, north-westwards for 30m; (ii) Main St (1) from the extended west kerbline of Main St (Access Rd to Nos. 34-36a), westwards to the extended east kerbline of Quality St; and (2) from the extended east kerbline of Quality St, westwards to the extended west kerbline of Quality St; (iii) Quality St from the extended north kerbline of Quality St La, northwards to the extended south kerbline of Main St; and (iv) East Barnton Gdns from the extended west kerbline of Quality St, westwards for 9m; and Phase 2 (i) Cramond Rd Sth from the extended south kerbline of Barnton Ave, southeastwards to the extended north kerbline of Main St; (ii) Cramond Rd Sth (Access Rd to Nos. 7, 5 & 5a) at Cramond Rd Sth (main carriageway); (iii) Cramond Rd Sth (northern access to No. 36) at Cramond Rd Sth (main carriageway); and (iv) Cramond Rd Sth (southern access to No. 36) at Cramond Rd Sth (main carriageway); and (b) except with the permission of a Parking Attendant, cause or permit any vehicle to wait or load onto or unload from any vehicle on any part of: Phase 1 (i) Cramond Rd Sth from the extended north kerbline of Main St, north-westwards for 84m; (ii) Main St (1) from the extended west kerbline of Main St (Access Rd to Nos. 34-36a), westwards to the extended east kerbline of Quality St; and (2) from the extended east kerbline of Quality St, westwards to the extended west kerbline of Quality St; (iii) Quality St from the extended north kerbline of Quality St La, northwards to the extended south kerbline of Main St; and (iv) East Barnton Gdns from the extended west kerbline of Quality St, westwards for 9m; and Phase 2 (i) Cramond Rd Sth from the extended south kerbline of Barnton Ave, south-eastwards to the extended north kerbline of Main St. Existing parking restrictions will be suspended on the affected sections of roads described in (b). There is no available diversion with respect to the closures of Phase 1 (ii) Main St (2); and Phase 2 (ii) Cramond Rd Sth (Access Rd to Nos. 7, 5 & 5a); (iii) Cramond Rd Sth (northern access to No. 36); and (iv) Cramond Rd Sth (southern access to No. 36). The alternative routes for through vehicular traffic in relation to the closures of: Phase 1 (i) Cramond Rd Sth – Cramond Rd Sth, Lauriston Farm Rd, Silverknowes Rd, Silverknowes Rd E, Ferry Rd and Main St; (ii) Main St (1) – Main St, Corbiehill Rd, Hillhouse Rd and Quality St; (iii) Quality St – Quality St, Hillhouse Rd, Corbiehill Rd and Main St; and (iv) East Barnton Gdns – East Barnton Gdns, East Barnton Ave, Barnton Ave, Barnton Pk, Barnton Gdns and Cramond Rd Sth; and Phase 2 (i) Cramond Rd Sth – Cramond Rd Sth, Lauriston Farm Rd, Silverknowes Rd, Silverknowes Rd E, Ferry Rd and Main St. The road closures for: Phase 1 shall not be enacted at the same time as Phase 2. The Order shall have effect from 06/04/26 to 26/06/26.
