(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION AND PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited(a) has made an Order on the A47 Trunk Road in the City of Peterborough to enable resurfacing, the renewal of road markings and studs, replacement road signs, traffic detector loops, bridge joints and kerbing works to be carried out in safety.
The works are expected to take place over approximately 14 weeks (Mon-Fri, 8pm-6am). Starting on, or after, Tuesday 7 April 2026.
The effect of the Order on the A47 will be to impose, for 24 hours daily, a speed limit of 50 miles per hour on the eastbound carriageway from the eastern side of Sutton Roundabout to the eastbound entry slip road at Junction 16 Bretton Gate Interchange.
The lay-bys adjacent to the A47 eastbound carriageway located approximately 805 metres and 2736 metres east of Sutton Roundabout will be closed for 24 hours daily for the duration of the works.
The Order will come into force on 6 April 2026 and may continue in force until the works detailed above have been completed, or for a maximum duration of eighteen months, whichever is the earlier.
