THE MID SUSSEX DISTRICT COUNCIL
(OFF STREET PARKING PLACES) ORDER 2006
(AMENDMENT NO.2) ORDER 2026

The Council hereby gives NOTICE in exercise of its powers under Sections 32 and 35 and Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and the Local Authorities Traffic Orders (Procedure) (England and Wales) Regulations 1996 of a proposal, the effect of which will be to amend the Mid Sussex District Council (Off-Street Parking Places) Order 2006 (“the Principal Order”) in accordance with provisions within the Traffic Management Act 2004 and of all other enabling powers
The general effect of the Order would be to remove the 6pm to 8pm charging periods from the First Schedule of the Order for all car parks in Burgess Hill, Haywards Heath, and East Grinstead
It also removes the definition of Disabled Persons Electric Vehicle Charging bays as these are to be treated primarly as disabled bays regardless of whether a charging post is installed.
The Order will come into operation on or around the 11th May 2026.
In all other respects the provisions of the current Order referred to above will remain in force.
The Order is available for inspection at the offices of the (1) Mid Sussex District Council, Oaklands Road, Haywards Heath, West Sussex, (2) East Grinstead Town Council, East Court, East Grinstead, West Sussex, (3) Haywards Heath Town Council, 40 Boltro Road, Haywards Heath, West Sussex, (4) Burgess Hill Town Council, 96 Church Walk, Burgess Hill, East Sussex.
Any objections and other representations to the Order must be made via email to

monitoringofficer@midsussex.gov.uk

or in writing specifying the grounds of objection addressed to the Monitoring Officer, Mid Sussex District Council, Oaklands, Oaklands Road, Haywards Heath, West Sussex, RH16 1SS arriving not later than 12 noon on 23rd of April 2026. All objections will be considered and may be published as part of a report and made publicly available to view.
