ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14(AS AMENDED BY THE ROAD TRAFFIC TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS ACT 1991)

DEFINITIVE PUBLIC FOOTPATH 1R/2572 ALDRIDGE (PART) BETWEEN HAYHEAD WOOD AND THE DINGLE, ALDRIDGE

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is hereby given that the Walsall Metropolitan Borough Council intend to make an Order, the effect of which will be to prohibit any traffic from proceeding along part of the Definitive Public Right of Way known as Footpath 1R/2572 Aldridge (Part), between Hayhead Wood and The Dingle.

The alternative route for pedestrians affected by this order will be along an un-named Nature Trail, Footpath 27 Aldridge, Sutton Road and Footpath 1R/2572 Pelsall Road.

Access to the footpath will be unavailable following a tree survey undertaken by the Countryside Operations Team which identified several safety concerns. Works are programmed to commence in Autumn 2026, to minimise impact on nesting birds. The Order will remain in force for up to a maximum period of 6 months, or until the tree works are completed, whichever is sooner. It is anticipated that the order will remain in force for up to the maximum permitted 6-month closure period, or until the tree works are completed, whichever is sooner.

Closure during this period is necessary in the interests of public safety during works which are being undertaken by Countryside Operations, Walsall Council.
