Shawcliffe Lane And Berrys Lane, Great Harwood, Hyndburn Borough - Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic To Allow Telecoms Maintenance Works
What is happening?
LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(SHAWCLIFFE LANE AND BERRYS LANE, GREAT HARWOOD, HYNDBURN BOROUGH) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council intend to make an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over the following lengths of highway in the Borough of Hyndburn:
i. Berrys Lane from its junction with Shawcliffe Lane for its entire length. ii Shawcliffe Lane from a point 270 metres east of its junction with Moor Lane to its boundary with The Croft.
2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibitions will be operative daily from 0830 hours until 1630 hours on:
i. Tuesday 21st April 2026 until Wednesday 29th April 2026.
ii. Wednesday 29th April 2026 until Tuesday 5th May 2026.
Access for emergency services will be maintained whenever and wherever possible.
4. No diversion routes due to these being no through roads.
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow telecoms maintenance works to be carried out by Morrison Telecom Services on behalf of BT Openreach.
