What is happening?

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF FOOTPATH

THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(SUTTON IN ASHFIELD FOOTPATH NO.144, HUTHWAITE)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order, under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be:-

No person shall: - Proceed on foot,

in the following length of Footpath at Sutton in Ashfield in the District of Ashfield: -

Sutton in Ashfield Footpath No.144, its entire length between the end of the adopted section of North Road and the junction with Sutton in Ashfield Footpath No.39 in Brierley Forest Country Park.

IT IS INTENDED that the prohibition will apply as follows:-

From 21st April 2026 until 20th October 2026 inclusive.

AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction there are alternative routes down adjacent roads.

The prohibition shall apply to enable works to be carried out and in respect of the likelihood of danger to the public and damage to the footpath. It may also apply on subsequent days when it shall be necessary. If the works are not completed within 6 months, the Order may be extended.

The prohibition is required to protect public safety while the wall adjacent to the path is repaired and improvements are made to the footpath.

THIS CLOSURE WILL ONLY TAKE EFFECT WHEN SIGNS INDICATING CLOSURE ARE DISPLAYED

THIS NOTICE IS DATED THIS 1ST DAY OF APRIL 2026
