What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
SECTION 14 (1) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION
OF THROUGH TRAFFIC
PART OF SAND LANE, WILBERFOSS

Notice is hereby given that East Riding of Yorkshire
Council intends not less than seven days from the
date of this notice to make an Order, the effect of
which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding
along part of Sand Lane, Wilberfoss encompassing
a property called Little Meadow to Sable Lodge
commencing 27 April 2026 at 08.00 hours until
29 April 2026 at 18.00 hours for the purposes of
excavation for the installation of telecoms cable works.
The road closure is necessary to enable the works to
be carried out in a manner consistent with ensuring the
safety of the public.
The Order is valid for 18 months, but it is anticipated
that the works will be completed within three days.
The alternative route for traffic affected by the road
closure will be via Sand Lane, Feoffee Common Lane,
A1079 York Road and A1079 Hull Road. The diversion
route will be signed at the time of closure.
The road will be closed to all through traffic but access
will be maintained for residents, emergency vehicles
and pedestrians. Further information can be obtained
