What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
THE ROYAL BOROUGH OF KENSINGTON AND CHELSEA
TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE (CLARENDON ROAD - StJONH'S GARDENS) 2026

The Council of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea intends to make a Temporary Traffic Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 Schedule 1 Section 14 (1)(b) and all other enabling powers prohibiting motorised vehicles from proceeding or waiting in roads cited below.

Clarendon Road, to be closed between numbers 53 to 61 and St John's Gardens to be closed at the junction of Clarendon Road.

The Road is to be closed to vehicles for crane works.

The restrictions will come into force from 08.00hrs until 18.00hrs on Wednesday 8 th April 2026, with a backup date of Wednesday 15th April 2026.

Clarendon Road, to be closed between numbers 53 to 61.

• Diverted through traffic may use Clarendon Road, Lansdowne Walk, Lansdowne Road, Lansdown Rise, Clarendon Road.

St John's Gardens to be closed at the junction of Clarendon Road.

• Diverted through traffic may use Clarendon Road, Lansdowne Walk, Lansdowne Road, Lansdown Rise, Clarendon Road. or St John's Gardens, Ladbroke Grove, Ladbroke Road, Clarendon Road.

The One-way working of both Clarendon Road, between Lansdowne Walk and Lansdown Rise, and St John's Gardens between the junctions of Lansdowne Road and Clarendon Road are to be suspended for the duration of the road closure.

Access will be maintained for residents and occupiers.

Nothing in this Order shall apply to:

- anything done with the permission of, or at the direction of, a police constable in uniform.

- Anything done in connection with the execution of said works.
