What is happening?

(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2026
On 23 March 2026 the North Lanarkshire Council made the above-named Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by Schedule 1 of the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, and in exercise of all other enabling powers, which makes it unlawful for any person to drive or cause or permit to be driven any motor vehicle (with the exception of vehicles engaged on road safety improvements) on the undernoted roads by reason of works being executed on or near that location.
A89 Coatbridge Road, Bargeddie from the north kerb line of the roundabout A752 Gartcosh Road, Bargeddie from the north kerb line of the roundabout Langmuir Road, Bargeddie from the north kerb line of the roundabout Alternative routes: Vehicles on the west side of the closure (A89 Coatbridge Road) wishing to access south side of the closure (A752 Langmuir Road) should proceed east on the A89 Coatbridge Road to Oakridge Road roundabout and then west on the A89 Coatbridge Road.
Vehicles on the north side of the closure (A752 Gartcosh Road) wishing to access the south and west side of the closure should proceed east on the A89 Coatbridge Road to Oakridge Road roundabout and then west on the A89 Coatbridge Road.
Vehicles on the east side of the closure (A89 Coatbridge Road) wishing to access the north side of the closure (A752 Gartcosh Road) should proceed west on the A89 Coatbridge Road to the A8 Glasgow & Edinburgh Road roundabout and then east on the A89 Coatbridge Road.
Vehicles on the south side of the closure (A752 Langmuir Road) wishing to access the north and east side of the closure should proceed west on the A89 Coatbridge Road to the A8 Glasgow & Edinburgh Road roundabout and then east on the A89 Coatbridge Road.
Pedestrian access will be maintained, where practicable, during the closure.
Vehicular access will be maintained, where practicable, during the closure.
The Order, will come into operation at 0001 hours on Monday, 6 April 2026 and will remain in operation until 2359 hours on Monday, 18 May 2026.
