Order 2024 (Variation No.9) Order 2026
Ref: SLTR/DB/2601
Notice is hereby given that on the 19 March 2026 North Somerset Council made the following order in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The general effect of the order was to amend the North Somerset Council Speed Limit Restrictions, North Somerset Consolidation Order 2024 to revoke the existing speed limit on the A370 in Congresbury and reinstate the original speed limits on this road. The order will come into operation on the 23 March 2026 and copies of the order may be inspected at: https://streets.appyway.com/north-somerset
Any person who desires to question the validity of, or of any provision contained in the order on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, or on the grounds that any of the relevant requirements of that Act has not been complied with in relation to the order, may within six weeks after the date on which the order was made, apply to the High Court for this purpose.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – Section 14(1)
Notice of Temporary Traffic Regulation Order
Notice is hereby given that North Somerset Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, intend to make an order the effect of which:
Bath Road, Burrington and Langford, North Somerset
Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2026
Date coming Into Force: 31 May 2026

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.
This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Openreach Limited to replace pole and carry out pole test work. This order will become operative on the 31 May 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 4 hours in duration between 8am and 12pm. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.
Schedule – Bath Road from junction with B3134 - The Combe, Burrington for approximately 1460m westwards to Pear Tree Industrial Estate, Langford.

Brimbleworth Lane, Weston-super-Mare, North Somerset
Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2026

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.
This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd for track maintenance. This order will become operative on the 7 June 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 1 night in duration, between 12am and 8am. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2026

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.
This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public
consequent upon work by Bristol Water PLC to reinstall manifold and marker post. This order will become operative on the 29 April 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 3 days in duration. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2026

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.
This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Wales & West Utilities Limited to replace missing gas cover. This order will become operative on the 6 June 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 1 day in duration between 9am and 3pm. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Pedestrians Order 2026

Will be to close, temporarily, to pedestrians the lengths of footpaths specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of footpath.
This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Wales & West Utilities Limited to replace gas mains and transfer service pipes to adjacent premises. This order will become operative on the 7 September 2026 for a maximum period of six months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 40 days in duration. Appropriate pedestrian traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

This order will become operative on the 10 August 2026 for a maximum period of six months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 33 days in duration. Appropriate pedestrian traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

This order was required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Openreach for pole replacement. This order will become operative on the 8 April 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 6 hours in duration between 9.30am and 3.30pm. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Pedestrians Order 2026
Date coming Into Force: 26 March 2026

Will be to close, temporarily, to pedestrians the lengths of footpaths specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of footpath.
This order was required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Bower & Kirkland for investigative and drainage connection works related to proposed school site (subject to any planning consents). This order will become operative on the 26 March 2026 for a maximum period of six months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the phased works which is anticipated to be of approximately 2 weeks in duration initially followed by a further week between March and the end of August subject to the progression of the works. Appropriate pedestrian traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.
