The East Sussex (Public Footpath Ringmer 17 (part))

(Temporary Footpath Closure) Order 2025

To protect public safety during a housing development, the Secretary of State has extended the above East Sussex County Council’s Order made on 19 September 2025 under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following footpath:

Temporary Footpath Closure

Part of Public Footpath Ringmer 17 will be closed to all users between TQ 4537 1295 and TQ 4556 1282 for a distance of 220 metres. An alternative route will be available around the western perimeter of the housing development.

The closure will be in force for 6 months from 1 April 2026, or until the works are completed, whichever is the earlier, which after this period will require an extension from the Secretary of State, should the footpath still be unavailable to use. The East Sussex (Public Footpath Ringmer 15b (part), Ringmer 16a, Ringmer 18a (part))

(Temporary Footpath Closure) Order 2024

To protect public safety during a housing development, the Secretary of State has extended the above East Sussex County Council’s Order made on 22 March 2024 under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following footpaths:

Temporary Footpath Closure

Part of Public Footpath Ringmer 15b will be closed to all users between TQ 4503 1288 and TQ 4505 1293 for a distance of 50 metres. An alternative route will be available roughly parallel to the west.

The whole of Public Footpath Ringmer 16a will be closed to all users between TQ 4503 1288 and TQ 4511 1292. An alternative route will be available to the north between Ringmer 15b and where Ringmer 16a meets Ringmer 16b, 18a and 18b. Part of Public Footpath Ringmer 18a will be closed to all users between TQ 4511 1292 and TQ 4523 1280 for a distance of 200 metres. An alternative route will be available roughly parallel to the north.

The closure will be in force for 6 months from 1 April 2026, or until the works are completed, whichever is the earlier, which after this period will require an extension from the Secretary of State, should the footpaths still be unavailable to use. The East Sussex (B2096 Battle Road, Heathfield) (40mph Speed Limit) Order 2026 NOTICE is hereby given that East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 84 (1) and (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, and of all other enabling powers, which will reduce the speed limit in the following length of road; 40 mph Speed Limit

B2096 Battle Road from a point 155 metres southeast of the junction with the A265 Burwash Road to a point 41 metres northwest of the prolongation of the northern boundary wall of No.1 Roundhouse Cottages.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

To allow Southern Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Chapel Hill – for its full extent.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible.

The Order commences 13 April 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Under Road – from the junction with A271 New Road to the junction with U7075 Cricketing Lane.

To allow Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

To allow Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Cross in Hand Road/High Street/Mutton Hall Hill/Burwash Road – from the junction with A265 Heathfield Road to the junction with A267 Cross in Hand Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A267 Little London Road, High Street, Horam Road, Eastbourne Road, North Street, New North Street – A271 Lower Horsebridge, Upper Horsebridge, Hawkswood Road, Amberstone, New Road, Hailsham Road, Gardener Street, Windmill Hill Road, The Strait, Boreham Hill, Kitchenham Road, Beechdown Wood, North Trade Road – A2100 London Road – A21 (T) – A265 Station Road, Haremere Hill, High Street, Straight Mile, Etchingham Road, High Street, Paygate, Heathfield Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 15 April 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken from 20:00hrs to 06:00hrs between 15 and 25 April 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

The Order commenced 24 March 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 30 March and 13 April 2026 depending upon the weather conditions. (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

To allow SGN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Old Willingdon Road – from the junction with C40 Jevington Road to Friston Field.

Restriction is anticipated to be in place between 27 March and 27 April 2026.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible.

The Order commenced 19 January 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken as detailed above depending upon the weather conditions.

To allow BT Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Sandhill Lane – from the junction with U7420 Redgate Mill Lane to the junction with A26 Eridge Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U7881 Limekiln Forest Road – U7880 Boars Head Road – A26 Eridge Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 31 March 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 31 March and 1 April 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C211 Witherenden Road, Mayfield)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow BT Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Witherenden Road – from the junction with C211 Waterloo Road to the junction with C406 Scotsford Hill.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C211 Waterloo Road – C214 Witherenden Hill, Swing Gate Hill – A265 Heathfield Road, Burwash Road – C406 Scotsford Road, Street End Lane, Scotsford Hill and vice versa.

The Order commenced 13 May 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 31 March 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (A259 The Drove, Newhaven)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

The Drove – between the junctions of A259 North Quay, A259 B&Q roundabout and A26 New Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic eastbound via A259 North Quay, Station Approach, Drove Road, B&Q roundabout; northbound via A259 North Quay, Station Approach–A26 New Road; westbound via A259 B&Q roundabout, Drove Road, Station Approach; and southbound via A26 New Road – A259 Drove Road, B&Q roundabout.

The Order commences 30 March 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 30 March and 1 April 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.

To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

North Street – from the junction with B2100 High Street to the junction with U7605 Hornshurst Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C12 Eridge Lane, Blackdon Hill, Sham Farm Road – A26 Eridge Road – C70 Bunny Lane – A267 Frant Road, Frant Green Road, Mayfield Road, Tunbridge Wells Road, Mayfield Road, Tunbridge Wells Road, Argos Hill – B2101 Bicycle Arms Road, High Cross, Mayfield Road, South Street – B2100 High Street and vice versa.

The Order commenced 24 November 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 30 March and 1 April 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.

Diversion via U7596 Tubwell Lane – U7594 West Street Lane – A267 Little London Road – B2203 High Street, Maynards Green Road and vice versa.
