Wrexham County Borough Council has made a TEMPORARY (PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

effective from 26/03/2026 prohibiting any vehicle from using that length of Whitegate Road, Wrexham between its junction with A525 Kingsmills Road, and its junction with Connor Crescent for a distance of 146m. The closure will be one-way with traffic flow in a south-westerly direction towards A525 Kingsmills Road to enable Wales and West Utilities to replace the gas mains in the carriageway. The alternative route for vehicles affected by the closure is via Newton Street and Rutland Road, or A525 Kingsmills Road, Kingsmills Loop (old A525), A52S Kingsmills Road, Newton Street and Rutland Road, which will be signposted accordingly. Pedestrian access will be maintained throughout the period of closure.

The prohibition is expected to last for 6 weeks, or until completion | of the works if earlier, with a maximum duration of 18 months. Dated 25/03/26
