THE CITY OF SUNDERLAND (SORLEY STREET WEST BACK) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2026
Sunderland City Council gives notice that it intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which is to temporarily prohibit all vehicle traffic from Sorley Street West Back from its junction with the Clifford Street, for a distance of 225 metres in a southerly then an easterly direction. The Order is required to facilitate cable installation works. The order will come into force on 29th April 2026. The maximum duration of the closure under the Order will be eighteen months. However, the works are expected to be completed within 10 days. All vehicles, will be prohibited from Sorley Street West Back from its junction with the Clifford Street, for a distance of 225 metres in a southerly then an easterly direction, until the works are completed or at such times and to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the display of traffic signs. An alternative route will be provided.
