What is happening?

THE PORTSMOUTH CITY COUNCIL (VARIOUS ROADS) (ELECTRIC VEHICLE RECHARGING PARKING PLACES) (NO. 5) ORDER 2026


  1. 1. Notice is hereby given that the Portsmouth City Council made the above Order on 26th March 2026. The effect of the Order will be:
    At the following locations; to introduce one on-street "Electric Vehicle Charging Bays" (parking only for electric vehicles being re-charged). The EV bay will replace any existing control where appropriate;

  2. 2. Copies of the notices, Order, Statement of Reasons and Maps are available to view on Portsmouth City Council’s website, along with copies of the orders being amended: Search 'Traffic Regulation Orders 2025' at

www.portsmouth.gov.uk.

Alternatively, they can be viewed at the Civic Offices, Guildhall Square, PO1 2AL, Monday to Friday between 9am - 4pm. Printed copies can be obtained by calling 023 9260 6480.
3. Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or any of its provisions, on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the relevant enabling Act, or that a requirement of any such enabling Act or of any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with, may, within 6 weeks from the date of the Order, make application for this purpose to the High Court.
4. This Order comes into operation on 1st April 2026.
