CITY OF DONCASTER COUNCIL
PUBLIC FOOTPATH NUMBER 8 SPROTBROUGH DONCASTER
PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS
TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
EXTENSION NOTICE

Notice is hereby given that the above named Order made by City of Doncaster Council on the 18th day of
September 2025 which came into force on the 29th day of September 2025 has been continued in force with the
approval of the Secretary of State for Transport under section 15(3) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as
amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991 up to and including the 2nd day of August 2026.
The Order would otherwise have expired on the 29th day of March 2026.
The Order was made to ensure the safety of the public and the workforce whilst work is undertaken to remove the
existing flood defence and replace with sheet pile.
Reason for the extension of the temporary order is that additional areas of repairs to the flood defence have been
identified by the Environment Agency that need addressing, extending the work beyond the initial closure. The
path needs to remain closed to safeguard the public and the workforce whilst the additional work is completed.
NOTICE is also given that there is no alternative route for pedestrians affected by the Order.
The Order will continue in force up to and including the 2nd day of August 2026 or until the works which it is
proposed to carry out in the said footpath have been completed, whichever is the earlier. If the works are not
completed within the time stated the Order may be further extended with the approval of the Secretary of State for
Transport. (PO310)
